Mario Maker Gets Super-ized
« on: June 14, 2015, 02:43:19 PM »

A quick name change and we're good to go.

During the grand finals of the Nintendo World Championship, the game previously known as Mario Maker received its final title.

Now known as Super Mario Maker, the finals showed off a full set of levels from the Nintendo Treehouse in the game's four main disciplines: Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario World and New Super Mario U.

The newly renamed Super Mario Maker will be playable on Wednesday and Saturday at Best Buy, and Nintendo World Report will do a further deep dive into the game this Wednesday night.

Once again, I see no release date. When's this supposed to come out? I'm REALLY looking forward to playing this game!

September is all we know, though presumably that'll get cleared up on Tuesday.

Super Mario Maker IMO works better to align with the naming conventions with all the games they're letting you modify.

I'm so torn on this game, I wrote in another post that I'm not ready to buy-in at full retail price, but the event last night really sold how much fun it could be... The only problem is that unless there's going to be an easy way to filter & search for other user's submissions by quality, then it'll be like Little Big Planet where the majority of the levels are garbage.

How many meetings were held to discuss adding "Super" to the title?

I just realized that if there is a seventh game of the Stanley Cup Finals it will be on Wednesday night, which kind of buggers up my initial plans of popping by the Best Buy near my house for the demo.  Sports over videogames?  Yeah, okay, I'm hurting my gamer cred there.  I guess I can go to the Best Buy on Saturday but I figure it will be busier then.

Mega Mario Maker would have been more awesome. :D
Just some random guy on the internet who has a different opinion of games than you.
