Unfortunately the GameCube version of the game was decided to be dropped. In order to provide the game envisioned by the console team a set and readily available online solution was needed. Unfortunately the GameCube has no online service and since so much work is going in to the online portion, it would be additional work to release only part of the intended game. Nintendo systems certainly aren't something that we are against supporting. Blizzard in its entirety is based upon earlier games for Nintendo systems. The GameCube and Revolution will still be cosidered for future products, unfortunately Ghost will only be made available on the Xbox and PS2 at this time.

Basically, the usual bullshit "no online support, even though the PS2 has no online service either" excuse. Sigh.

Nintendo Gaming / What happened to the GC NCAA 2006?
« on: July 16, 2005, 02:23:40 AM »
Ever since Sega gave the GC the shaft for sports, all we (pretty much) had left was EA for "realistic" sports games. And now that they have the exclusive rights to the NCAA Football, they decide not to release it on GameCube? Well, of course it gets Madden.. but half the features they advertise for the thing is importing your NCAA players in and continuing their career!

And thing is, as close as March of this year, EA was showing and talking about the game showing up on GC. What happened? Last second cancellation? I am confused but feel I should not be.

You could make a custom paintjob for your car in Top Gear Rally.

I'm near considering modding my GameCube just for the demo...

The awesomeness knows no bounds.

They really should have made something original instead of basing their work off of someone else's. S-E is very much in the clear to shut it down - because that is not how you become good at making games.

If they want to showcase their engine, they should have made original characters for the demo of it. Otherwise, they a) did not get permission (you'd be suprised at how many fan projects get an okay from S-E when you just ask ) b) not only were they taking S-E's IP for their own use, they were also using art copyrighted to Akira Toriyama, and c) using S-E's music.

I feel no pity for them. They knew it was going to happen. Next time, ask for permission BEFORE you start.

Hey hey hey. Activision is kicking ass left and right, and I actually like THQ. They're the reason you have Sonic on GBA. And uh.. Rare on there too.

THQ is one of the few independent third parties publishing GameCube exclusives anymore.

Nintendo Gaming / Burnout 2: no more replay saving?
« on: April 12, 2003, 07:21:40 PM »
Is it me or did they take out the option to save crash replays? I never see the option come up, and scouring the manual turns up nothing. Otherwise a great game, but I've had some spectacular crashes that I wish I could have saved...

So, am I looking too hard, is it unlockable, or is it completely gone?
