Nintendo Power has revealed the latest set of characters that will appear in the upcoming Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS.

The article reconfirms the appearance of Metal Mario, Shy Guy, Lakitu, and Miis, but also details two new racers. The first is Wiggler, the caterpillar enemy that first appeared in Super Mario World. The character has made playable appearances before, but this is the first time he appears in the Mario Kart series.

The second character is Honey Queen from Super Mario Galaxy. With the addition of the two new characters, the cast of racers reaches 17.

If that meant that this is Wriggler's first appearance EVER then this artist wrong, because he was an obstacle in the Maple Tree Way track in Mario Kart Wii, if it means first appearance as a playable character then yeah it is. But regardless, I can't wait for this game. Mario Kart is one of the best games I have ever played and I look forward to many more versions of the game!

i'm fine with Wiggler... but what about Queen Bee? like many people might not know who she is... and its kinda like saying that she's been a main character/antagonist... but she's not, are they trying to replace king boo? King boo was actually a main part of the game "Luigi's Mansion" so I understand if hes in it... but Queen bee was just 3 out of 240 stars in super mario galaxy 1/2

Freakin' Queen Bee?! What?! Where's the Dry Bones and Waluigi. Seriously. They remake a Waluigi stage, but there's no announcement of Waluigi, and everybody loves Dry Bones. He's a fan favorite. How does the Wiggler fit in the Kart anyway.... or the Queen Bee for that matter. Those things are huge!

That's part of the hilariousness to me . . . trying to figure out how those two work in karts. I love it, though. It's like Hideki Konno and his crew just went nuts with creativity on this one.

Ya know what. If they're chuckin' a bunch of side characters with limited appearance, then I want to see Professor Egad and Geno in there. The more obscure the better. I'm still wondering where Waluigi went though...

I find it hilarious how people are lamenting the disappearance of Waluigi. Years ago, people would have given their nuts, their father's nuts, kidneys, liver, lungs and heart just to make him disappear off the Mario roster. Now, people are wondering where the hell he is.

You know this would make an interesting character expose, how he went from being this hated character to sort of having his own cult fanbase.

I still maintain that Super Wario Bros. should be made to elaborate on the relationship between Wario and Waluigi as well as be the ultimate Mario parody.

As for Mario Kart. Nintendo should have added Dry Bones Baby Mario for the creepy factor.

i always say that all characters get their own course and kart so i thought one of the new people was going to be cheep cheep. but i guess the bee kart and super mario galaxy course now make sense... still dissapointed though

Im happy they put rosalina and shy guy rather than waluigi and dry bones.I also noticed that honey queen has a different attire than queen bee.I'm just happy that wiggler and honey queen are not copies like metal Mario

I'm not sure if those are the same groups saying those things, but it is interesting nonetheless. Sometimes I wonder if he's become like those orange and black-wrapped peanut butter candies on Halloween: no one likes them, but it wouldn't be Halloween without them. Waluigi has appeared in just about every spin-off since his introduction in Mario Tennis, so some people may just be complaining about his absence simply because he was something that was always there but now no more.

I've always thought that Waluigi would be accepted if he appeared in one of Wario's games, especially if it were a co-op affair. I still have no idea why that hasn't happened yet.
