Nintendo Gaming / RE:Silicon Knights and Nintendo break up
« on: April 13, 2004, 10:13:18 PM »
I hope this turns out to be a late april fools joke on SK's part. Judging from Denis Dyack's personality, I wouldn't put it past him. But if this is true, Nintendo has some major internal crap to deal with! Two of their most talented and beloved developers gone within only a few years of each other! Not only have they hurt them selves by letting go of these developers, but also giving their competition some more ammo.

Nintendo, through its stubborn ways and insane philosophies, have driven their best allies away.  Not only are us fans, or at least those of us who will stay with Nintendo (myself not necessarily included), going to be stuck with Wario Ware, Kirby's Air Ride and other 1 and 2 button games, but we're going to have to play it on hardware that's at least a generation behind the competition's, that won't have any 3rd party support. Gee, that sounds grand.

What ever happened to the great multiplayer games? What ever happened to the innovative gameplay? You say, Nintendo, that innovation is what the industry needs, yet you come out with crap games that wouldn't have been more innovative on the Game & Watch! These games are less fun than they are innovative and yet you still operate under the illusion that you are the best developer in the world. And the only developers that you had that were still willing to make fun and innovative games? You alienate and send them running for the hills. I'm surprised you are where you are right now in the race, but don't think that won't change. People will grow tired of your crap as I have!

Goodbye Nintendo! We had some good times, but you failed me in the end. I won't take your crap anymore. I hope you have a quick and painless death, only long enough for you to realize your follies.

Those are very beautiful GBA graphics that Rare is doing with Sabre Wulf............. If the gameplay is as good as Rare was capable of producing in years past -> Nintendo might regret selling them. What do you think, Sabre Wulf - beautiful flop, or second coming of Rare?

What cartridge? woopty frick'n doo! Like the article said, they are just trying to extort the developers all over again and it'll come back to screw them in the butt. It is just too similar to the N64/PS1 days

DS=VB!

Read this editorial and you'll be convinced!

P.S. I'm giving up on using periods to end sentences! Up with the exclamation mark!

Nintendo Gaming / RE:GCN 2 possibly delayed...

No, it's definetly bogus, if you get my meaning.

Maybe the decent sales of recent months has gone to Nintendo's head.... Maybe their under the impression they are the market leader.

If Sony and M$ don't follow Nintendo's lead with delays of their console sequels -- this will be a huge mistake. Nintendo's line-up this generation has been nothing spectacular, and even though people are buying GCN now, that doesn't mean that those sales will continue, especially for three more years.

In my opinion, the software this generation has not had the Nintendo touch. If I had known the quality of some of the big-name GCN software (i.e. Mario Sunshine, and to a lesser extent Zelda) before the system came out -- I might not have bought the system. I loved Nintendo when they made unbelievably great games. But they have some how managed to lose the knack of producing great games. Mario Sunshine pales in comparison to Mario 64, GCN has nothing to even compare to GE or PD! There have been no great multi-player games for the current console; SSMB:M was decent, but, like the Marios, I still prefer the original. TS2's multiplayer was alright, but it wasn't exclusive and GCN's wasn't the best version of the three. And besides that, if I'm gonna play a FPS with some friends I'm gonna play Halo, and later on Halo2 and PD0 (on the Xbox!!!). TS2 can't shake a stick at Halo. Nintendo's current and announced software lineups just can't sustain good sales for another three years! Plus on top of all that 3rd parties have already started to jump ship.

The gist of this rant is this: Unless Nintendo makes some major changes in its software development philosophies, makes games as good as they were last generation and attracts more development houses to their current system -- there is no way that this system will last three more years.

P.S. keep in mind I didn't even mention online gaming!! Just imagine where online gaming could be in three years....and Nintendo will still be stuck in years past, forcing single-button games upon people and demanding that online gaming is not what gamers want!

TalkBack / RE:Surprises from Nintendo in the Future
« on: November 07, 2003, 11:30:20 AM »
One thing that I have learned as a Nintendo fan is that their comments aimed at exciting their fans are usually over hyped and they rarely ever back them up with substance.  It's possible that they will reveal their new system, but most likely not. In fact, it will probably be some kind of product, like Donkey Konga, that is aimed at a very small niche market. Most likely no one will want it. I warn all of you not to get your hopes up, they will most likely be dashed in the end.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Goldeneye 2 only for GC?
« on: August 24, 2003, 03:18:44 PM »
AUF sucked big time! The controls are terrible!

I never had the chance to play NF but from what I saw the controls looked clunky, and very stiff.

I agree that if EA makes a GE2 than it'll probably suck, but I won't denounce the thing before it even exists.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Denis Dyack and ....Kid Icarus
« on: August 09, 2003, 06:21:01 PM »
I never played Kid Icarus, but from what I have heard from people it sounds pretty frick'n  cool.  With SK's diverse abilities and great talent; they would be a great developer for nearly any type of game and a SK Kid Icarus on the GC or GC2 (NES5, N64x4 whatever) would be a great introduction into the series for me and other like me. I hope it happens just as long as it doesn't affect TooHuman's release.

You actually can buy FreeLoader which is the same thing that Action Replay uses but in a separate package, it's only $20. That's what I did when I got Soul Calibur 2.

Thanks for the in-put guys.

I would prefer to wait for a lower price than import at $60 US, but if I could import it at the  the US price I would. So if anyone knows of a place please let me know, thanks.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: are loyal fans getting snubbed
« on: May 21, 2003, 06:22:06 PM »
Yes. Yes they (we) are. But not because of that. People know that the price of systems will drop as their life times wear on. That's why many of us have waited to get a PS2 or Xbox.

How much you want to bet that those were old comments about MKDD!!'s LAN connections?
