Nintendo Gaming / RE:Rumored Nrev specs
« on: June 07, 2005, 04:11:10 AM »
BTW thinking that the CPU really isn't going to be that important is a major mistake. In all games these days the bottleneck is the CPU. These days the GPU can do so much but still has to wait for the CPU to tell it what to do next. You really do need a fast CPU to make the most of the GPU so that it isn't waiting too long and can get a decent frame rate.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Dolby Pro Logic 2 HELP
« on: November 21, 2003, 05:16:12 AM »
If your reciever is capable of Dolby Prologic 2 (DPL2) you have to set the mode for it to DPL2 movie mode for the sound to be correct. The gamecube will just produce dpl2 when it is set to do so in game.

DPL2 is just a way of putting information for the other surround channels on top of the channels from the GC, so long as the stereo rca plugs are connected to the reciever (i'm not sure which of those you've got) once that input is selected (on the reciever) you should get sound out. Just set the reciever to decode pro logic 2 and it *should* just work.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Hooking up a PAL GameCube to a DVI-D TFT Monitor
« on: November 20, 2003, 07:09:37 AM »
Yes that would be true. The PAL GC is truly the worth when it comes to how you can out put things. It only allows RF, comosite and RGB scart. While RGB scart is the best of the three it's still interlaced unlike a proper digital signal. Pity really, it means you cant get any good VGA converters for it.

NWR Feedback / RE:"This page does not support your browser"-error

Yeah, i'm using Mozilla Firebird 0.6 and i'm having problems accessing the site. The pop up does keep on coming back and just does not stop, which made it hard to access this site and use others in other tabs.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Bye Bye Gamecube
« on: June 13, 2003, 03:36:14 AM »
But he did sell his N64. I mean that's a mistake in itself *snigger*

Honestly i think that you dont really need to get all high and mighty with pro nintendo stuff. I am myself a nintendo fan but i'm not going to appreciate that different people prefer different games. There are games on the PS2 and Xbox that i'd like to play, I'll still keep purely with my gamecube though due to cost issues. Honestly i believe that anyone who just constantly disses GTA3 and Vice City is someone who doesn't understand that these are good games. The hype that surrounds them because of their content is bad, but the games themselves are rather enjoyable.

People have a right to their own desision but i think it was quite foolish of NintendoKid to proclaim that he'd got rid of the GC on this forum. ~:/

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Game Zero/gameboy player

Game Zero is currently being done by zoonami, not Free Radical. But they are both companies that have Ex Rare employees

Nintendo Gaming / RE: I'm interested in an RPG.....
« on: June 09, 2003, 08:33:31 AM »
Well i've got Skies of Arcadia Legends and i think it is absolutely brilliant. The gameplay and story is really well done and since i ended up playing it for 6 hours solid a few days ago i'll definately recommend it. The graphics might look a little dated due to it being a dreamcast port but if you can over look that you'll have no problems. TBH ATM i'm enjoying it more than FF7

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Developers mentioned in games = Sign of pride?
« on: June 07, 2003, 02:19:05 AM »
You have to expect the logos, because just like films they first say who created them. It's only really annoying when they are overly long. In EVERY game you play they will put who made the game.

Nintendo Gaming / F-Zero GX not a typo (Official Discussion)
« on: May 07, 2003, 05:19:54 AM »
Well it was originally being called F-Zero GC. Maybe they decided to then go to F-Zero X GC -> F-zero XG ... which is too close to Xtreme G so they swap the letters and *bang* you get F-Zero GX.. maybe the arcade one will be F-Zero AX.

Nintendo Gaming / New Zelda for GameCube... by Capcom?
« on: May 03, 2003, 09:21:05 AM »
I believe capcom have done 3 zelda games so far (all 2d),
Zelda: oracle of time
Zelda: oracle of seasons
Zelda: the four swords.

Having them do another one wouldn't be too bad on the GBA but i dont think it will be on the GC because zelda is miyamoto's special game.

TalkBack / Boktai: The Sun is in Your Hand Movie
« on: May 02, 2003, 01:14:04 PM »
Oh my goodness, that is a rediculously cheesy video. Well it like kulock said this may be the way koname sees the GBA / GC gamers.

That download is completely jap with no subtitles what so ever. Though there isn't that much dialog, so i could more or less figure out what was going on.

Nintendo Gaming / Can i play GC on my computer?
« on: April 03, 2003, 09:44:11 AM »
Ah but the thing is working from a PAL GC you can only do composite or Euro SCART. It doesn't matter how great your vga box it wont make composite look any good. That and after much searching i've learnt that you cant get Euro SCART into a VGA signal. So i went the obscure route of Scart -> s-video  (no we dont get that off our PAL GCs) and that into my tv card. I get a much nicer picture than off composite so i'm happy. It's a very clear picture.

Nintendo Gaming / Can i play GC on my computer?
« on: April 03, 2003, 06:54:07 AM »
There is the option to use a vga box to let you use your computer monitor to play your game cube. The other way is to use a TV card. This is the method that i currently use, i trust them slightly more than vga boxes (well i have a pal GC and you cant get great VGA out of what we get).

Nintendo Gaming / Is it just me?
« on: March 22, 2003, 09:44:14 AM »
The situation in US might be that everyone is praising the cube and so on. But in the UK things are looking like they are on a downward spiral. What with the lateness of every nintendo game or not being released. I myself am quite happy with my cube but the general feeling amoung UK cube owners is that things aren't so great. Stores are losing faith ATM.

Saying all this though we 'might' be on the cusp of a change. With MP finally out as of friday and RE0 released 2 weeks ago, coupled with the low prices that stores are selling the cube at ( though currently it is believed that these low prices are due to the stores dropping the cube) there might be some light here in the UK. ~:/

Nintendo Gaming / Metroid Prime - PAL Enhancements
« on: March 10, 2003, 09:14:59 AM »
Hmm, i'm not convinced by the introduction of new voice bits in the PAL version (the one i'll be getting). It might only be as much as the classic Super Metroid 'The last metroid is in captivity. The galaxy is at peace' that voice would be fine and fit.

Regarding making the game harder... well i'm definately all for that i like games that give me a good challenge ( as so few do these days).

Nintendo Gaming / Need a few european release dates!
« on: March 06, 2003, 09:06:04 AM »
Super monkey ball 2 is out 14th march,
LoZ: Wind waker is out, 3rd (2nd) may <- year on from cube release but might be a day ealier since 3rd is a saturday
Hitman 2 is ~ april
Burnout 2 is ~ may

conscerning the others, there havent been any solid release dates for the US, so i would guess that there is no point in trying to guess when they'd be released in EU.

Nintendo Gaming / Buying US Gamecube
« on: March 05, 2003, 03:31:14 AM »
So long as your TV can accept an NTSC signal then all there is to worry about is powering the GC. Fortunately a EU power supply will work absolutely fine so there is no need for a step down converter or anything like that.

Nintendo Gaming / Mario Kart Finished???
« on: March 04, 2003, 10:53:00 PM »
From what i heard in the DICE roundtable discussion what was said was that they had finished recording the voices for the US release. This doesn't mean that the localisation is done. It also doesn't mean that the game is finished.

Nintendo Gaming / European March release EXPLOSION: 65 games!
« on: February 28, 2003, 05:09:12 AM »
My poor wallet, i knew this month wasn't going to be great when it came to money... but oooh there are too many releases on there that i will be picking up on release day. Why couldn't one of those have been released slightly earlier. Damn bad times of years for selling games.

Nintendo Gaming / Return to Castle Wolftein
« on: February 28, 2003, 03:07:49 AM »
Well return to castle wolfenstien really isn't a great game if you only have the single player portion of it. The game is great in multiplayer but then only when you have about 8-16 players. Which means that you'd have to have it running online for it to be a worthwhile experience.

Since i live in europe my cube doesn't output s-video or component. Only composite and RGB scart. Since i run my Gamecube though my computer's tv card this meant i could only use composite .
That was until i found an RGB scart to s-video converter, this connection is sooo much better than the composite, i always noticed the mass of dot crawl fuzzing around the picture, and now... it's bliss.

Nintendo Gaming / Official F-Zero Thread
« on: February 18, 2003, 11:30:14 PM »
Razex: These are the controls for the n64 version of the game. In the days when the Z button was far more accessable than the L button.

The one thing i really want to see from a new F-Zero game (the N64 of which i actually went out a bought a few days ago) is the random track generator. I dont know how feasable it will be with the new graphics engine with track details and stuff that the n64 lacked completely.
