Lego City: Undercover Switches From Exclusive To Multiplatform
« on: November 22, 2016, 05:18:33 AM »

The former Radio Free Nintendo Retroactive title will be coming to the Switch, among other things.

An early Wii U exclusive will be coming to the Switch and other platforms next year.

WB Games tweeted today that Lego City: Undercover would launch on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam next year.

The Wii U version released on March 18, 2013, so it appears there was at least four years of exclusivity.

Im sad the Wii U has lost another exclusive, but happy that more people will get to play the best Lego game
I will probably buy it again for Switch.

Good to see Steam support.  The Switch might be the way to go with a game like this, though.

That's the type of exclusivity we want. 4 years.

With the Wii U basically defunct, this is a perfect candidate for a port to current gen systems.  Hopefully the new port resolves a lot of the loading time issues, at least.

Well this isn't an old port I expected. Seems a bit odd, though I guess it's just because it released only on one system.

I hope this means they're considering a sequel.

So the other current gen systems (Xbox One and PlayStation 4) get it, as well as the next gen system (Nintendo Switch). It's OK, though the Switch version should be the best.

I wonder what will happen to all the Mario references in the PS4/Xbone versions.

I guess I'm sorta rewarded for dragging my feet on getting the Nintendo Selects version of this game?

This is good news. I'll likely be getting the Swtich version, baring Nintendo doesn't mess up selling the Switch to me.

As an owner of the Wii U version I will pass on this one unless it fixes my biggest issue with the game: a lack of a co-op mode. I can deal with load times, but the Lego games have always been co-op titles for me and my nephew or other family member to play together and it is the games greatest weakness.

Nothing was more fun in previous Lego titles than wandering around the overworld exploring and collecting, and this game demands a co-op mode.
