My guess is that they don't know any better or don't know anything about PC's.  In other words, they are ignorant and fall into the MS hype of tricking the public into thinking that Halo is a good FPS.  The Majority of people who played any FPS on their PC stay away from this game.  And I don't think that's a coincidence.

Bungie should have stick to their Myth games, those were fun on PC.

Why is everyone always talking about Halo?
I'm a huge PC FPS fan, and Halo on PC was mediocre at best, and even worst on Xbox.  When I played Halo on Xbox it just seemed very slow/sluggish; running seemed like walking, and turning was even worst.   Gamepads, even analogue ones do not have the percision of the keyboard/mouse.  Maybe I'm just too used to the keyboard/mouse, but I find it hard to use a gamepad for FPS games.

I guess ppl who never played any real FPS's like Halo.

I like the suggestion of adding Nintendo songs to guitar hero, but then again Nintendo could easily make their own "guitar hero" game if they wanted to just for Ninty songs.

But whoever makes the game, as long as they add this song GerudoValley I'll be happy.

see what happens when turok goes multiplatform? The once might Turok has fallen...he was really good on the n64, but once they decided to go multiplatform the quality really suffered and that game sucked so much. Not to mention the dumb marketing campaign for turok...change your name to turok...LOL

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Nintendo to release 40gb hard drive for gcn
« on: October 18, 2003, 11:26:26 PM »
Um...i think IBM has already developed a microdrive for the cube, but I don't think Nintendo had plans to release it, due to cost and applications that would take advantage of it.

But maybe they want to release it after all...maybe Nintendo is developing a game that can use it, or they got the cost down to make a profit off of it.

I remember reading it on this site (PlanetGamecube), but I can't find info on it at all...there's no search function either so searching past articles here is next to impossible.

Sorry, I haven't been back here for a while. Constellation 3D is still around. I just did a google search and turned up a bunch of hits.

Don't worry. Constellation 3D and the FMD is still around and looks to be the next big data storage format.

Nintendo Gaming / Retro Studios 1st party or 2nd party
« on: August 20, 2003, 02:55:45 PM »
I was browsing the company profiles on planetgamecube and it has conflicting reports on whether or not Retro Studios is 1st party or 2nd party. I thought they were 1st party, and that the site here is just outdated, but I want to make sure. Does anyone know for sure if Retro Studios is 1st party?

This site says they are 2nd party then says they are 1st party. Nintendo 100% owns Retro Studios so that makes them 1st party, right?

What would be a better product is if they created their own broadband adapter for the Gamecube (fits into the bb-adapter slot on the bottom of the GC) with integrated wireless goodness, so you don't have to get Gamecube's BB-adapter. Cause from what I understand, you still hve to buy the Gamecube's broadband adapter then the D-Link or Linksys wireless ethernet bridge for wireless networking. And it would save some cash too.  You 3rd party peripheral makers listening?

Hot on the heels of Linksys, D-Link unveils it's wireless ethernet bridge for Gamecube, Xbox, and PS2.
Check out the link guys.

Nintendo Gaming / Surprise new Nintendo game in March?
« on: March 03, 2003, 08:08:51 PM »
I would rather have Retro bring back Raven Blade, than Thunder Rally; it looked so awesome, and still looks awesome to this day.
Maybe I just like D&D action RPG type games. Hell, I would even buy the old Capcom arcade D&D (Towers of Mystra...or something like that. I don't remember) games if they made it for the cube. Those were fun games.

this blu-ray stuff doesn't impress me...I read a while back...like a year ago...that someone was developing some sort of fluorescent light technology with disc that could hold 100-450+ gigs.  Now that impresses....
here's the link

fluorescent technology

oh...near the bottom of the article...it says that it costs about $0.76 to produce a disc.  That's pretty damn cheap.
edited: to make the darn link work...lol

Nintendo Gaming / GTA: Would it sell?
« on: March 03, 2003, 07:40:00 PM »
I remember playing GTA 1 way back in my college days. It got pretty boring after a while, so I didn't quite get into it.  The game I played and liked way better than GTA was a little game called Postal.  Now that game had some really fun and extremely violent stuff in it.  That was a classic game. Geesh...that was like 5-7 yrs ago...hehe.

It's true, all the little kids buy into the hype and they love anything with a "M" rating on it. That's how they base their decision on games...it's kinda dumb...but what do you expect from kids?  To them...it's not what you play, as long as you look cool doing it.

Hey, that's a cool song. Thanks for the link.

1)  Young kids who's parents buy them the console for all ages.

1)  Nope.  Self explanatory.

Actually if the young kids buy their own games, then yes I think they will buy GTA. Young kids seem to love anything with a "M" rating on it.  It's the "forbidden fruit syndrome".  Adults on the other hand seem to treasure value more.

A necromancer is someone who conjures of the spirits of the dead for purposes of magically revealing the future or influencing the course of events.  In this case he's refering to sauron.

Buy a new one with the same color.  Save the receipt then repackage and return the old one saying that it is defective and that you want your money back. Make sure the place you buy the new one from will give you your money back and not store credit or something like that.
