Guess not.

I thought an event like this would make a fanboy like me happy. But I'm dumbfounded.

Guys, I've been a fan of your site for years.  Will you guys be wearing a Planet GameCube shirt or something?  I'd like to shake your hand.

Baiten Kaitos isn't out yet, I'm interested in its story so I'm reserving judgement.  I really enjoyed Harvest Moon, Tales of Symphonia, Skies of Arcadia which I see you didn't mention in favor of poor titles to make your point.   Please stop trolling.

I'm with Bill on this one.  I started to make one of those lame game lists to refute your off-target claims.  Doesn't  Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO  count as a good 2D fighter?  And I can think of 12 RPG's offhand and the GameCube is weak on RPG's?  Seriously, your claims are false and we are happy even if you are not.

Are you guys hedging your bets against Nintendo so you can sound sound elite?  This thread is sad.  Seriously, compare these numbers with other system launches.  And remember, this isn't a GameBoy.

May I have " 2 PLAYER GAME " as my title?  I'm not very creative.

It's interesting how things turned out.  Looks like there is a future with 3 main cosoles in video games.  Which, by the way, if you would have said 3 years ago, you would have been laughed off the internet.  Even if it loses to Xbox in the US, Sony is still sheltered by Japan.  Xbox has the US.  And Nintendo has the handheld market in both.  I have to say I have a nagging concern about Sony.  I don't want to see them taken down by Microsoft.

I am hopeful that this title will allow the use to manipulate the interface "windows" with the touch screen.  If so, hot keying will be a thing of the past.

But it's a completely pointless and idiotic idea. I just don't see why anyone would want it.

Well, if your a lamer like myself, you sit it beside your computer monitor and make your way through a game while reading a site like gamefaqs.

"  I'd say the resemblance to Nintendo's ads is coincidental.  "

I wouldn't   The Xbox demo at GameStop has an ad that shows a family sitting down to play with their Xbox.  They are all bouncing, having a ball and the voice over talks about family fun.  The music playing during all this sounds just like the "island" music from Mario Sunshine.  It's a blatant rip off if you ask me.

I hardly post, but I lurk much.  At work today we were talking about market trends in the land of consoles.  The general consensus is that Xbox is overtaking PS2 in sales.  But this seems to be having little effect on Nintendo.  Xbox's gains are largely Sony loses.  What do you guys think of the idea that in 5 years it will be only Microsoft and Nintendo?

I'm not asking which system you think is better.  I am both alarmed and intrigued by the last few months NPD results and how it looks tough for Sony.  Which is quite odd.

I don't follow.  Sony has to support 2 systems as well.

The PSP can also play music and movies, and as we saw with the PS2 this is what originally drove its sales.

Actually, this won't work quite the same as it did for the PS2.  There were tons of PS1 games out and DVD was a common medium. While it can play music and movies, its all proprietary and requires new purchases.

Finally the PSP can hold a helluva lot more memory for games than the DS (like comparing N64 to PS1 memory for games).  That is a major advantage as we saw how it played out with the N64 and how developers clearly preferred disc medium, especially Square.  If you don't believe me just think of this, the DS is due out this year and has 100 developers lined up, the PSP isn't due out until Q2 2005 and it already has 99 developers signed on.

But remember the PSP was originally slated for Xmas release as well, so their isn't any real head start here.  On the whole, I agree with you.  I think they both will be successful.  But I doubt either will even approach GBA sales.

Um, can someone help me out here?  Are Reggie's comments at the press conference on the 11th the one and only source of this sudden rise to superstardom?  Wild.

General Gaming / XBX > PS2 > GCN in gaming reviews.

Either I am confused or this is bogus, theaveng.

You wanted to find the average score, but the site you are using for your information does not list even half the games for any of the 3 systems.  Only 30 Xbox, 33 GameCube, and 38 PS2 games reviewed.

For instance they don't have Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader listed.  (IGN gave this game a 9.1)

Or how about Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy?  (IGN gave this one a 9.4)

I'm not a big fan of IGN.  I'm just using them as an example because it is one of Gametab's sources.

Looking at your posts above, you are using the 30 or so games you calculated an average for to represent the entire library for each system.

You're wrong.
