Ok, is this a straight port (story wise). Cuz I was talkin to my MGS obsessed friend, not that I'm not, but he said that the story for Twin Snakes that planetgamecube gave in their preview was different from the original MGS. He said that Snake wasn't blackmailed and there was no rebellion. Hook me up so I can knock this guy

Nintendo Gaming / Should We Import the GBA SP?
« on: March 12, 2003, 04:44:10 PM »
After finally getting a GBA, I found out about the SP and immediately returned my regular GBA. I haven't ship it from Asia (I'm in the U.S.) because I get a discount over here in a local Best Buy. Anyways, after being gaga over the platinum for many months, I've suddenly changed my oppinion and totally want to go for the black (especially cuz of the smaller chance of visible scratches). So since black ain't comin out here for however long and I want it now, I want to know if importing is a good idea. All games and everything are compatible, but the only thing thats holding me back is with this lithium ion battery and the whole plug into the wall and charge thing, will I need a stepdown converter to charge it in my outlet? If I do then it'll be a pain with a car plug in and all that. Thanks to all who know I should go for this

TalkBack / ATI and Nintendo Further Their Partnership
« on: March 04, 2003, 05:44:32 PM »
I am not very knowledgeable in the video card department, but in my oppinion I like the ATI made cards more so than nVidea. Even with nVidea's DX (I think) coming out, I'm pretty sure I read ATI was also releasing a card to challenge it. Anyway, I'd just like to say that if ATI is working with Nintendo on their next generation console then I am quite pleased

TalkBack / Conflict: Desert Storm Releasing Early?
« on: March 04, 2003, 05:35:22 PM »
Is this only for European release? I had played it on XBOX at my freind's house and was not very impressed, in fact all of these changes are exactly what I was looking for. Hopefully this is U.S., if not I'll go pick up a Freeloader.

What's the deal with that (girl?) right in front with an XBOX necklace thing on. Disrespect to Miyamoto will not be tolerated.

This makes getting a GBA seem like the complete right thing to do.

TalkBack / Sega Buyout Talks Re-emerge
« on: February 27, 2003, 07:45:36 PM »
Ok, if Nintendo lets SEGA get away then they are insane. If they allow Microsoft to get them, then we can kiss our beautiful blue hedgehog goodbye. And why are Microsoft and EA the top competitors. Nintendo should be fighting. Also, if EA gets em, then no more SEGA exclusives for GCN. So the way this is looking, there are either gonna be SEGA games only on Xbox, or there are gonna be SEGA games on some systems and not on others!

Perhaps I'm over reacting to this small bit of news.

But think about Rare. (which wasn't that much of a loss other than maybe Conker's Bad Fur Day2.

Nintendo Gaming / Metal Gear Solid Discussion
« on: February 27, 2003, 07:20:54 PM »
It might not even be Metal Gear Solid. The guy did just say "a metal gear game". If it's an all new one, then Konami better not make some stupid storyline about Snakes Summer Vacation. They better finally give us some respect. Any way around it, if this turns out to be what we're all hoping for, then if it sells damn well (which it probably will) Konami will no doubt bust out Castlevania and a crap load of awesome titles. I'm just waitin on Turtles in Time Cubed.

Aren't all of those available for Gamecube, or soon will be? We slaughtered, even if they aren't all exclusives. Ah, it's times like these that make me proud to be a Cube owner.

TalkBack / Network Play in Pikmin 2?
« on: February 25, 2003, 07:55:22 PM »
Ya, I need to go rent it again. Has it been made into a Player's Choice game? I don't remember the article. If it is, I can save some bucks.

TalkBack / Network Play in Pikmin 2?
« on: February 25, 2003, 07:42:36 PM »
I'm not sure if any one else noticed this, and I haven't precisely figured out why it is, but in the picture of the Captain Olimar and the other 'Guy' commanding the Pikmin to carry the can, as Jonathan and Rick said, there is only one targeting reticule there. Yet the target itself is Olimar's pink, but the arrow above it is 'Guy's' blue. However, in the other image of them together with only one targeting reticule (where they are standing around spider webs or roots of some kind), the target and arrow are both pink. Perhaps the former represents some sort of teaming up where both characters are going to the same object to be moved, so if it is network, then one player could see that another was coming to the same object. That could explain the latter being only a single pink target with pink arrow because Captain Olimar's opponent, or partner is not headed to the same destination or object. This is just a theory that comes to my head when I observe the screen shots, however it is probably incorrect because the only real Pikmin experience I've had was when I rented it to get the memory card save trophy in SSB:M, but I loved what I played.
