Nintendo’s various support services, its online store, and Club Nintendo rewards will be unavailable or significantly altered in the coming weeks due to a systems upgrade.

The upgrade began on April 28, and its effects are rippling throughout a handful of key Nintendo services.

Customers are currently unable to create new repair and part orders online. This service is scheduled to resume on May 6. Until then, status information for repairs and part orders from Nintendo will also be unavailable, though processing and shipping for orders placed prior to April 28 will still continue during the upgrade.

In addition, the Nintendo Online Store is shuttered for the moment. Pointing one’s browser to the store URL leads to a “Site down for maintenance” placeholder page with apologies and a link to additional info. The store should be back up and running on May 9.

Finally, Club Nintendo has temporarily disabled orders of physical rewards. Orders for those will resume May 13, but until then they are offering an expanded selection of digital rewards. April’s original quartet of Super Mario World (Wii U), Mario Golf (Wii/Wii U), Art Academy: First Semester (3DS), and Trajectile (3DS) remain available. In addition, players can now get Balloon Fight (Wii U), F-Zero X (Wii/Wii U), Kirby’s Pinball (3DS), Aura-Aura Climber (3DS), and Grill-Off with Ultra Hand (Wii).

Nintendo also notes that their Support Specialists may be unable to access these services, as well, so phone and email customer service seem to be affected by this scenario too.

Nintendo assures customers that they “are working to make this transition quick and to minimize any impact it may have on support service downtime.” There is a website set up to provide real-time updates regarding impacted services, which can be accessed here.

Better hope the Nintendium holds up if even phone CS can't create repairs.
