Mario Kart 7 Likely Launching Early December in Australia
« on: October 19, 2011, 06:56:47 AM »

There is no confirmed date yet, but at least we have a better idea of when it will arrive.

Last weekend at the EB Games Expo, Nintendo PR rep Jamie Wilson revealed that Mario Kart 7 for the Nintendo 3DS will likely be launching in Australia sometime in early December.

The reasoning for this is that if Nintendo releases the game too close to Christmas, they will likely reduce sales due to parents having already finished buying gifts.

Pretty much non-news. The Mario Karts have all released right along side the other regions here, in fact I'm pretty sure we got Mario Kart Wii before the US last time.

Is Down Under a Day ahead?  If so then we got it the same day.

Though Europe and Japan got Mario Kart Wii the same week on the 10th and 11th.

We definitely got it earlier than that, at least checking the friend code thread seems to suggest so.

That thread wouldn't be a good indication because from what I've read around here a lot of Aussies just import from Europe as a matter of course.  Though it wouldn't be the first time something broke Street Date.

I can guarantee you my copy of Mario Kart Wii is not a European copy and my FC is one of the first in the thread.

And normally when something breaks the street date here it'll be one outlet chain or retailer chain. However I can remember shopping around for the best deal for MKWii in lots of stores.
