I only got an NES seven or eight years ago as I didn't have one as a kid. Metroid was one of the first games I bought and I figured it was really dated. I actually really enjoyed it. At one point I had to look up a map online to get out of a repetitive section of Norfair but I felt it was still really playable and fun. Another part of it that's cool is playing with the password system. You can't do that with the other games. These days you can find password generators online so you can really customize things to tweak the game to work as you like.
