Nintendo Downloads - May 10, 2018

Over in Japan, some stars of WiiWare are celebrating its 10th anniversary by returning.

As we approach Runner 3 Day, it's a solid-looking lineup of digital releases for the Switch this week. The headliner depending on your point of view is either the all-DLC version of Shantae: Half-Genie Hero (high recommendation from yours truly) or another One Piece adventure that's actually more expensive despite - at least in NA - no physical release. Weird.

The retro front sees Death Road to Canada hit, with a surprisingly large number of Raptors on it, as well as throwback (with gyro controls!) FPS Immortal Redneck and the prequel to The Fall 2. The retro realms are represented with the inevitable latest review project of community maven JP Corboran with Super Sidekicks 2 and a mid-80s shooter from Nichibutsu called Terra Cresta in the Archives.

Europe's lineup has a late arrival from Sly Spy, while in Japan it's a catchup week with Celeste among others... but Katie bar the door, it's the return of WiiWare stalwarts "Daddy", "Mommy", "Sarah", and "Billy" as the Family series returns.

I really do need to play costume Shantae, but I just have not had the time with turmoil in the family and too many JRPGs.
