Tomodachi Collection: Shin Seikatsu (New Life) is set to release in Japan on April 18, Satoru Iwata revealed in the latest Nintendo Direct. The game will be available both digitally and physically for 4,800 yen. 

In the video, Nintendo's president showed himself in a Nintendo themed room, after which he talked more about the specifics of the game. You still can create personalities for every Mii you add and help them in their everyday lives. This includes setting up relationships, making friends and constantly giving them a better place to live.

The new game will use the StreetPass and SpotPass functions of the hardware, though it is not clear how they will be used. New locations were shown as well, with a harbor and restaurant making appearances.
