TalkBack / RE:New Viewtiful Joe for DS & GameCube
« on: April 07, 2005, 06:06:57 AM »
Are you sure about this? IGN and some other places are reporting its for GameCube and PSP.

EDIT: Don't I look stupid. Note to self: Never comment on an article you just browsed through...  Sorry guys.

This probably just means they are putting all their energy into Demasked. This can only be seen as a good thing, not a bad thing.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Screenshot from the new Pokemon GC
« on: December 17, 2004, 09:08:14 AM »
Wow, this thing grew. Guess I should come back and insert my comments.

i agree 100% with Bill. No one here should assume the game will be a Pokemon Colosseum sequel. i am not saying that it is definately an RPG, I am saying I don't have a clue what it is, but don't assume it's a sequel. Why? Because we haven't been given ANY INFORMATION!

And all this garbage with "Oh it looks like Pokemon Colosseum so it must be Pokemon Colosseum". If I showed you a screenshot of Mario what would you think? Super Mario Sunshine? Mario Golf? Mario Party? Mario Tennis? Mario Baseball? See where I am going with this? Those games look similar but are completely different games. You can't tell what a game will be just by a few screenshots.

Lastly, about the graphics looking crappy - It's to be expected early in development. They have like a year (or whenever they are going to release it, but it aint gonna be near future) to improve on it. Every game starts out looking that bad. They are most likely focusing on more important mechanics right now. Games always vastly improve in graphics from when they are first shown to when they go gold. So can we end this "grafx suxx0rs" arguement before I have to pull out images of Ocarina of Time when it was first announced on the N64?

From GAF: Pic

Looks like we may just get an RPG after all. Some people say it will just be PC2, but all those screens are looking like an RPG. Of course this could just be like PC where there is an RPG mode alonside the colloseum mode. Guess we will have to wait and see!

EDIT: \/ \/ \/ Really? Link works for me. Well here is the link to the thread: Link

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Athletics/Olympic titles?
« on: August 24, 2004, 11:04:20 AM »
This came to my mind when reading your thread. Sadly it is the only one that came to my mind. I think that is the only athletics game available for cube which is a shame because it doesn't have very many events.

I don't think I'd play this game, but it would be nice to listen to the soundtrack. I love Paul Oakenfold's music!

That's awesome Professional 666 (the bonus DVD for SS) Also of note, looks like SS won't be the full priced 50 dollars when released, that's nice!

Anyway, at DVD Box Office, if you use coupon code VISA2004CE (don't know if you actually have to use a VISA, but I did) you will get 15% off your purchase. I did this for Tales of Symphonia (which they said they are out of stock on, so they better stock up soon so I can get my game!) and the grand total came to 57.25 CDN, or under 43 USD. They also ship free worldwide, so that's nice. Just though I'd share that.

« on: July 28, 2004, 07:02:43 AM »
"Under a previous agreement, Criterion's Burnout3 game is being published by EA and is scheduled for release on all major platforms in September."

Hopefully that is not an error in the Press Release.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Where can i get ToS? (im in Canada)
« on: July 26, 2004, 10:43:54 AM »
there is a better deal for DVD Box Office. Use code "VISA2004CE" and you get 15% off. Sadly you can't use SUMMER2004 with this coupon. But the grand total cvomes to 57.25. It retails for 59.99 so it's like saving the taxes, getttin 2.50 off, plus shipping is free.

Yeah, like Bill said, it includes items that were only retrievable in the online mode.

You can read up on it here:

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Super Mario 128 thread
« on: July 07, 2004, 07:14:30 AM »
been in development before the cube huh Bill? That's amazing. I hope this game gives us that new warm fuzzy feeling that SM64 did. Give me Super Mario World gameplay in 3D and I'll be a happy little fellow. Just make this a compilation of all the previous game's gameplay. Give us the best of the best items, enemies, costumes (frog, hammer bros, etc) and launch it with Revolution (I agree with Bill, they are going to launch it with Revolution...they have to after the reaction at cube launch with Luigi's Mansion) and many many people will be happy!

I am glad you enjoy it.

Wish I could help you on the application, but I don't know of a program that does that.

« on: June 17, 2004, 10:00:44 AM »
I live in Canada and I got one at Radio Shack. I don't use it much but when I do, it works pretty good. I'd recommend it.

Radio Shack - GCN to USB

Yeah I am a little iffy too. Looking at EA's page, it looks like a copy and paste job aorss all three pages with another bullet added to PS2's. It would really be nice though if it were online, even if it was just the map-swapping feature.

« on: May 21, 2004, 06:50:24 AM »
In 2007? So this is basically an announcement for next-gen games correct? they aren't gonna release this on x-box/gamecube/ps2 ae they?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Area 51 for Gamecube or not?

Midway's E3 2004 Page

Even they are only listing PS2 and X-Box so far. Sorry dude.

18
I am sure it will be for GCN also. Just cuz it never mentioned the system, does not mean it won't go there. If they put three PSO games on the cube, and have established a fan base, why would the stop?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Nintendo going online? Proof
« on: May 17, 2004, 04:20:57 AM »
Yeah you won't be finding it anymore. NOE edited the page to remove the online part.

20
lol, true true, thankz for pointing out my complete lack of thinking!

21
Ok, so this would be my dream peripheral for GCN that has been getting some attention. I wish it was a GBA player V2.0 It would be the same as the regular GBA except have another slot to play DS games. This is why they are holding off on the announcement, cuz it would take away from the DS. Obviously this would never happen because it would cut into DS' sales.

Yeah I was hoping that they would show a GCN title too. Little dissapointing but maybe we will here something in the coming months.

Nintendo Gaming / My prediction - SK is making Zelda
« on: May 12, 2004, 03:44:26 AM »
Why? Well for one, we haven't heard from SK at all three conferences. Sony or MS would definately have said something if SK was playing on their side. Therefore, this makes me conclude they aren't third party to Nintendo but are still second or maybe even first party. now to the zelda part. A while back Dyack said he would like to do a Zelda, just like how he said he wanted to do a MGS. Also take a look this from IGN:
Quote

Neither Shigeru Miyamoto nor Eiji Aonuma will be directing the Legend of Zelda title. Both serve as producers. A new, still-secret director will helm the project.
Quote  Secret director? Why would anyone bother to keep the director a secret. It must be someone big. And since we havem't heard from SK, it could possibly be Dennis Dyack!

Nintendo Gaming / GCN2 = "Revolution"
« on: May 11, 2004, 09:26:01 AM »
IGN just now revealed the new codename for the successor to GameCube. It will be referenced to by the name of "Revolution". Kinda cool name, It better be implying Nintendo's new strategy - to be Revolutionary!
