So my question is; Is there another SSFII that could be coming out for the VC that I should wait for, or is this the last version we are going to get?

You're getting a little confused. The order is:

Street Fighter II: The World Warrior
Street Fighter II: Champion Edition
Street Fighter II Turbo (sometimes called SFII Turbo: Hyper Fighting)
Super Street Fighter II
Super Street Fighter II Turbo

There's no "SSFII: Turbo Championship Edition".  The World Warrior, Turbo, and Super SFII had SNES releases (and are now all on the Virtual Console). Turbo (under the name "SFII: Special Champion Edition") and Super SFII were also on the Genesis, but while the gameplay was intact, the sound was horrid. IMO, Turbo was the best, as Super SFII was a waste of time in the arcades (it was basically a rushed beta version of Super SFII Turbo). It does have 4 more characters, at least. Unfortunately there was no SNES or Genesis release of the final SFII game.

Just to add to the confusion, Street Fighter Alpha 2 was also ported to the SNES. That game could conceivably see a VC release at some point.

No. Or at least, probably not. Actraiser 2 removed the god-game sections from 1, leaving a string of action stages. I've yet to hear anyone describe 2 as anything other than a disappointment.

8 years? Amazing. The retrospective is a nice touch (it made me realize I've been reading this site for over 5 years. Scary.  )

Anyway, congrats, and good luck in the future.

Oh, and I'm curious about that flash animation Jome mentioned. Anyone have a link?

The wording here makes it sound as though E for All is a replacement for E3. It's not, but it is endorsed by the ESA. E3 has become the "E3 Media and Business Summit", and takes place this July.

Also, how is Gamepro magazine still around? From my memories of how bad it was ~10 years ago, I can't believe it still has any subscribers at all.

They took out the special passwords in Kid Icarus? Boo.

Why is everybody so intent on the ghosts in Mario Kart? If you played the game back in the N64 days, you'd know that saving that data sucked royally. Not only did the data use up 121 of the possible 123 pages of the N64 memory card, but if the race took too long (or if you hit too many obstacles, or if you simply paused the game) you couldn't save the data anyway. Nintendo is saving you grief, people. Let the ghosts go.

Aw...all this time waiting for a perfect port of Dracula X, and it goes to the PSP instead of the DS.

Can this mean original Turtle Games with original music and gameplay?  And a release of the Simpsons?
Doubtful. If Konami was too cheap to pay for the music in the arcade port in Battle Nexus, I don't see it happening here. And forget licensing the Simsons. IGN lists the known games as: Circus Charlie, Contra, Gradius, Roc'N Rope, Rush'N Attack, Time Pilot, Track and Field, and Yie-Ar Kung Fu. The others are unknown, but if Konami didn't see fit to announce them, I have to think they're more obscure games that few would care about.

How does Mario Kart play in 3- or 4-player racing mode? The original was a little too much for the N64 to handle, which resulted in slowdown. Did Nintendo find a way to fix that, or does it still occur?

Nice secrets. Just one little issue with the article:

Naturally, people are currently waiting in line right now for the PS3 launch, still about 30 hours away.  Will people come out in similar numbers for Wii?

Nah. Nintendo had some crazy idea about actually supplying people with the console instead of having massive shortages. Apparently people will be able to walk into a store on launch day and just buy a system without preordering or waiting in line. Must be some wacky Japanese business philosophy.

Well, in an E3 interview they said "launch", though IGN admits there was a translator involved, so we don't know exact the translation was. Gamespot was told "by or around the time of the Wii's launch".

It looks like everyone outside Konami assumed it was a launch title, while in reality it had a more fluid release date.

A delay is probably for the best, anyway. It'll give people's wallets a chance to refill a little after the launch frenzy.

OOT2D wasn't shut down by Nintendo. That was actually in one of last year's mailbags.

Downloading a rom is illegal, since you don't have the copyright owner's permission to transfer it that way. Nintendo's not about to grant that permission, either (outside of the Virtual Console, of course). Making a rom (ie dumping the game yourself) is legal.

Not that I have anything against downloading roms. Especially roms of games that were never released in the US.

It's just movie-to-movie-to-game. The movie opening soon is a remake of the 1969 original. The PS1 game was based on that, and now we get another game with the same name but based on the new movie.
