I agree with the traveller..  we're just too spoiled by riding our saddled dinosaurs through valleys of choclate with hills watching our every step, jumping on walking mushrooms every now and then. On the other hand.. the first thing that comes to ones mind when thinking about space, galaxies and the like IS freedom.. together with the fascination of the limitless unknown. Maybe these associations broke some restrictions in the heads of the designers .. oh I so wish I had the money to finally get a Wii *cry*

I want those fancy pictures of the guys posing around after each stage (though I didn't watch the whole clip I didn't see them in between stage 1 and 2 )..
That being said: Contra 3 is one of my favourite games on the SNES.. I actually returned to it about half a year ago and didn't stop until had beaten hard mode *proud* =D. Just as Aaron said, even if you die a lot, it doesn't take the fun out of the game... though I wonder how the boss alien on stage 5 can be beaten without dying over and over (the rotating fire breathing eye/brain in the desert).. I usually use the short invulnerability after death to feed it with bullets..

thats what i ended up with by 12, only 150 words, 100 short of what i needed. ugh!

I did some corrections and added some stuff here and there ;-) ..hope this doesn't come too late or did you hand it in already?

Wait now slower paced games are for casual gamers? Holy crap peoples!

I've checked the numbers again and again but my research allows for no other conclusion..

Okay, ideally, when (if) you shower/bathe, you're clean when you're done, right?

So then, you take a clean towel to dry yourself off.  But, since you're clean, the towel should still be clean, right?

Therefore, I suggest we stop washing/drying our towels.  If every American did this, it could help save approx 7 million cubic metric tons of energy per year (estimated by numbers I made up just now).

Who's with me?

Been there, done that (one towel for one week, letting it dry on the air everytime), now where do I get my cookie?

Agreed! (Though this has nothing to do with Strategy RPGs)

All KDR needs.. if you don't know it already.. there are also some pretty pictures and stuff on this site

really.. this game.. it took me months to beat it and never did it become a chore, secret items and towns hidden everywhere , the story taking unexpected turns .. which turned out to be caused by my own playing style.. characters, deep enough that you will care about them..and and.. and... so much more..

those were the days.. *sigh*
I would really appreciate more games of this kind

I think at a time where good bands are offering their music for free download on websites like myspace it can get quite hard for a new band should they decide not to jump on the bandwagon. This might also have to do with mp3players becoming afordable for just about everyone during the last years. In my opinion getting on peoples mp3players has become somewhat crucial for a bands success. So at a time where many people have GB of music on their harddrives and mp3players, listening up and down their playlist all day, you really don't want your songs to be excluded. If you expect a person to visit your gigs, buy your albums, whatever, you have to get his or her attention first. Not allowing people to listen to your music when and where they want might be quite risky since there are so many other good bands willing to do so, not to mention that most people know how to get/steal all the songs they want anyway.
I play in a band myself and recently we recorded two songs, paying about 330€ each.. which is quite a lot considering that we're all still going to school or college. Still I wanted to make them available for free download for afore mentioned reasons, to get known, to make people give our music a chance. If more people like our music, whether they have payed for it or not, more people might come to our gigs. Bigger clubs, festivals, sponsors might get interested. I think nowadays it's all about reaching a large audience that opens the doors to a bands success and offering songs or albums for free (or for a donation) might be a good way of achieving that goal..

P.S.: still in the end I was outvoted by the other band members.. no downloading, just listening .. oh well .. ;-)

P.P.S.: what I wrote might not completely apply to bands like radiohead ;-).. I guess they just like the idead of free music .. give (if you want) and (or) receive (anyway)
