he was supposed to give it to you then....it's a demo, c'mon. :-P

I got my demo today.....holy...crap...

it's even better than I thought it would be....

my only complaint was I thought the villagers would sidestep out of my aim more often...but oh well. The demo still blew me away.

you know what nintendo should do?? they should start advertising worldwide as if the PSP has already lost, as if its a complete failure from the start. It'd be way below the belt but it'd be genius. And more importantly, if done right, it'd work.  Man...thats the kind of stuff SEGA would have done...god bless their retired hearts.

well....i dont know, i've heard otherwise...like, oh, i dont know, nintendo selling 2 million-ish units worldwide

in other words, sony's gettin creamed if not because the ds is "better" but perhaps primarily on availability.

I think the PSP is already pretty much screwed when it comes to userbase. By the time PSP debuts in North America, there'll most likely be somewhere between 4-6 million DSes sold already worldwide at least. And guess what'll most likely come out in march (if ninty's smart that is). The new super mario bros will kick the ever loving crap out of the PSP if ninty hypes it and markets it well enough.

Ian Sane...i keep getting the impression that you're the cynic of these boards :-P.

Anyhow, we haven't heard any negative news about multiplayer limitations from people who have tried it out with some of the launch games...so perhaps it isn't too small afterall. In any case, we'll just have to wait and see. I definitely wouldn't shrug the entire multiplayer feature off like you guys seem to be doing

TalkBack / RE:Nintendo Accommodates High DS Demand
« on: November 12, 2004, 12:09:44 PM »

PSP production is weak. I hear that they'll only ship about half a million in japan this year. Not saying the demand isn't there, the product just isn't.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:PSP vs DS

what about multiplayer, then?

One of the DS' major draws is it's multiplayer functions.

Will PSP be able to do the same with such a weak battery?

And how many people will religiously charge their handhelds? You watch a single movie and it's shot. You play on a single car ride and its shot. That's gotta suck.

Well, I know that most coffee houses now offer wi-fi to laptops, why not to the DS? Also, most arcades and malls seem to do so also. Even McDonalds has wi-fi support. But can the DS use it? I'm not sure.

Also, the DS won't have the release date advantage in Japan, because they're both being released in December there. The PSP actually costs more than 185 dollars automatically, because you have to purchase the memory stick ($26) and so it costs $210 in all. I wonder when they'll announce game prices though.

And remember this, DS is already the third best selling console in Japan. I think that might have been what finally made Sony start to sweat bullets.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:GameCube Third-Party Support Rally
« on: October 26, 2004, 03:30:22 AM »

*take note i haven't read most of this topic*

I like my gamecube. I'm satisfied with it. Heck yeah I wish there was more third party support. Heck yeah I wish nintendo was in first place.

For now though, I'm extremely satisfied with the gameplay opportunites I have on my gc. Perhaps I'm not satisfied with nintendo's business model, but that's secondary. More third party support? Sure, I'm game.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Nintendo DS Launch Survey
« on: October 23, 2004, 04:43:45 PM »

1) later, cuz of no moolah

2) money-less again!

3) I need to go whore myself out first

4) I wish warioware was a launch title

5) consider this, the PSP is set to launch this year in Japan, so there are bound to be preorders already set there. The thing is though, DS is already the third fastest selling console in Japan. What does this tell us?

Ok, just a few things

I'm not sure if linking like this is allowed...but whatever. Read this:

http://cube.ign.com/articles/557/557517p1.html

punks. There you go, that's what you can be looking forward too. Personally I think it looks awesome...much more satisfying than getting fat and killing innocent people in GTA. Cookie cutter sequel? Maaaaaaybe...but at least this one looks like it's got some awesome sprinkles...and missles that fire out of your arm cannon.

What a lot of people mistake metroid for is an action game. The metroid games have never been action based. They've always been exploration/puzzlers, you really cannot confuse it with anything else. I mean, not to downplay the awesome action in the game, that's just the root of the series.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:I'm still a little disappointed

Have faith. The way I see it, the current lineup is aimed towards the mainstream know nothing evidence. They'll eat these franchised games up. But when the time is right, I'm positive nintendo will deliver where they need to.

There's no reason to buy a DS over this game unless you really want to play Super Mario 64 portable

Ian Sane, I've noticed that you're quite the cynical nintendo gamer.

What I don't understand is when nintendo gamers scream and kick for more third party support and then they get it, all they whine for are more franchise 1st party titles. Maybe nintendo is making room for third party venues. Also, it's more than likely several other great games will be coming within the year. If I recall correctly, none of the consoles in the last 2 generations or so have ever launched with a killer app. If we do get one (the next mario bros for sure), it'll most likely be within 3-6 months after launch. What more do you want?? If Feel the Magic was a ninty title, would you be happy? The way I see it, this sega game is the LAUNCHE'S killer app. even then we still have a sims game and a madden game which will both sell by the truckload.

Consider this, if the DS is launching in Dec in Japan and they're getting several other first party titles at launch, dont you think we'll get most if not all of those same titles over here around the same time? What did you really expect at launch? Zelda?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:When is the October 7th news conference?
« on: October 07, 2004, 07:24:12 AM »
so what are all the confirmed LAUNCH titles??

Mario 64x3
Madden NFL 2005
Tiger Woods PGA TOUR®
Sims in the City™
major title from Activision
Ping Pals
Feel the Magic: XY/XX
Rayman DS
Asphalt Urban GT
Ridge Racer DS
Mr. DRILLER: Drill Spirits

I'm not sure but I think mystic ninja geomon might be in there too.

there appears to be 3 or 4 more nintendo launch titles as well that we haven't heard about, right? I'm going to go ahead and speculat they will be warioware DS, nintendogs, and maybe yoshi's touch and go

Gah!!! That's one spicy meatball! 3rd parties galore! I like that lineup..it shows you in the future, third party support is going to shine on the DS.
