I'm curious, now that this is out, what are people's thoughts on this game?

I don't know about rude, but where's this Sony innovation we're hearing about?

I mean, they didn't even copy Nintendo's motion controls... they copied Microsoft copying Nintendo's motion controls..... ;)

Hahaha great point.

Sony isn't bad-mouthing Nintendo really...it sounds more desperate and sad than anything. I almost feel bad. Almost.

When you compare HD-DVD next to Blu-Ray, HD-DVD looks 10x better and its very notesable which is very surprising since Blu-Ray has more storage space and Sony kept promoting that it was better quality.

I seem to recall that being because of a bad player, they both use the same codecs and everything.

Why would an HD-DVD look better? "HD DVD offers 15GB capacity on a single-layer platter, while Blu-ray offers 25GB. More capacity means more data; more data generally means better images and better sound when it comes to hi-def movies." http://www.macworld.com/article/132170/2008/02/bluray.html

I have a PS3 and it even upgrades DVDs to a better quality appearance. Manufacturers like Warner Bros. and Disney support Blu-ray.

I think Sony is banking on Blu-ray sales to make up for losses.

I did a search for "Black Friday" deals on this forum and it yielded no results in this thread...but they've been leaked:

Nintendo's earnings report today showed the first drop in profits the company has seen in four years. For the six month period ending September 30, the Kyoto giant's operating income fell 58.6% from the same period last year to 104.3 billion yen. The Wii platform took a major hit, its sales falling 43% from last year to 5.75 million units. Nintendo ended up lowering its Wii sales forecasts for the full year from 26 million units to 20 million units.

Mainichi Shimbun reports that Iwata, speaking at a press conference in Osaka today, said "Wii has stalled. We were unable to continually release strong software, and let the nice mood cool."

This is no surprise to me at all. I have been a Nintendo fan since the NES days, but even I have been severely disappointed with the Wii's lineup of games. What the hell has Nintendo been doing all this time?? Where are the games?? The system sells insanely well, but its success is riding off of Wii Fit, Wii Sports, and Wii Play which are the same games it has been relying on since the beginning. Where the hell is anything else?

I REALLY hope that Nintendo has something up their sleeves and they have a bunch of A+ games in the pipeline that they just aren't ready to unveil yet. This year has been a severe disappointment in terms of quality Wii Games. It is reassuring that Iwata seems to be aware of the problem, and I hope and pray he is working on a solution before the PS3 and/or 360 catches up, and if things don't change they will. Players want and demand more than party and parlor games. Where are the original IPs? Where are the "hardcore" games?

The "hardcore" games are usually third party games, and since they hadn't done well in the past, third party developers just don't want to invest time or money in making more for the Wii. I mean, this isn't news. Has been a question since 2006.
