Nintendo Gaming / Re: E3 2012 Press Conferences - Day 2: Nintendo

I have a feeling this will be a trainwreck with live demos of stuff like ZombiU and year old ports that no one will give a rats behind about. I hope we at least get a goofy Reggie or Miyamoto moment on stage.

I don't think they'll have any third party characters at all this time. Imagine how much of a pain in the ass it will be for them in ten years to make new deals with Konami and Sega just to be able to release brawl on the successor to WiiU. If they keep it 100% Nintendo characters they can re-release the games as they please until the end of time.

Wii Less Powerful than PS360, according to two anonymous developers

I don't doubt this at all. If you want non-pixel counters to recognize a visual jump over 360/PS3 you'd have to make the system ridiculously powerful. A cheaper and smaller system is probably better than a 2-5x hardware bump that most people won't even notice.

If you really care about sales numbers then I suggest to wait until Nintendo puts out numbers themselves and just enjoy the game instead of worring about preorder numbers.

Exactly. Let's wait for Nintendo numbers before we declare this game a success.

Here ya go.

I am sure some late preorders are going to come in with a 8 days till it releases.

Since it's from VGChartz it means the numbers are made up and most likely not even close to the real pre-order numbers.

Right now the preorders numbers is 160K so I'm expecting 200K or so sold within the first week or so.  And they can reprint art books and they have time yet so I don't think that's going be an issue with those that preorder.

Where are you getting those numbers from? I'd consider it a miracle for a game like this, on the Wii, at this point in time to sell even 50k when all is said and done.

I think there's a very high possibility that Monolithsoft will have a big game ready for Wii U lauch. The last game they released, Xenoblade, came out in june 2010. If you look at their output in the years before that, the only year where they had no game releases was back in 2007. One might think that they have staff working on another licensed Namco project, but that seems unlikely now that Namco has finally sold their last 16% of the stock to Nintendo.

It seems like they're confident in HD development, and they're even talking about taking on Bethesda. A launch game from them could potentially turn some heads.

There's no excuse to pass on this game. Even if it fails at retail, they can have it up for sale on a virtual console 20 years from now.
