Two mid-2000s classics coming tomorrow

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/41810/super-mario-advance-4-zack-and-wiki-hitting-wii-u-tomorrow-for-north-america

Nintendo's game page has revealed tomorrow's Virtual Console titles, and you'll be running and exploring the weekend away.

Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 and Zack and Wiki: Quest For Barbaro's Treasure will release with tomorrow's eShop update. Mario will be $7.99, while Zack and Wiki will be $19.99 US/$24.99 in Canada. Mario will include the e-reader levels directly from the title screen.

Daan recently reviewed SMA4, which you can read here.

ZACKUUUUUUU! I've played a bit of Zack and Wiki since it's EU eshop release, hasn't properly grabbed me yet but it's a well made old school point and click adventure.

Awesome to see Zack and Wiki coming out on Wii U... although I still question the value proposition when the game can be easily purchased in physical format for less.  But hey, it's the digital revolution!  Paying more for less is a thing now!

Those last few levels of Zack & Wiki annoyed the heck out of me. Horrible Wii Remote controls for some of the actions required that didn't work at all.

As for Mario, I'm very excited for that. Gives me an excuse to play SMB3 again after all this time!

I'd always been curious about Zack & Wiki given the praise it got, so this may be what gets me to give it a shot. Mario Advance 4's fantastic news as well, hopefully this run of great VC games keeps going.

Most places are charging $40 or more for physical copies, even higher for a sealed copy. So the eShop version is more than 50% cheaper than you'll pay for a physical copy.

I lost my copy of Mario Advance 4. Much more enticing considering it also includes all of the e-card levels no one bought.

Hey there!  I bought all of them they offered! :p

*snip*

Some places are trying to sell the game for $40 or higher - but (as links posted above clearly show) finding it for less than the eShop asking price isn't difficult.  Plus, if you own an actual copy then you can choose to sell later and recoup some of the cost - especially useful for people who find out they don't like the motion controls in this game, since motion controls are a huge part of the game.

Speaking of which, I liked the motion controls. Most of the time they were fun and relevant, but Phil is right about one or two specific points at the very end of the game being very poor. The sword fighting motion in particular comes to mind.  Controls were still manageable though - and probably less annoying overall than the sudden death trial-and-error moments found in the game.

Lots of griping in that last paragraph, but Zack and Wiki was still a great experience on Wii and comes highly recommended.

Zack and Wiki is great, one of my favorite Wii games. Fantastic twist on the adventure genre, and, like with many complained about Wii games, I recall having no troubles with the controls.

Zack and Wiki is very fun, and some of the puzzle can be quite challenging. I felt like a genius when I figured out the umbrella situation. Last level is ridiculous though.
