TalkBack / Re: Zach's Gaming Stuff: Soul Calibur IV Special Edition

That seems... really weak. I am a "poster guy", though, so maybe it would be better for me.

I bought this game used for like $15 a while back and I didn't really like it. It just seemed so ... standard. Nothing really cool about it, just another fighting game, except for the character creator.

TalkBack / Re: Whatcha Been Playin'? 360 Edition
« on: May 10, 2011, 06:19:37 PM »
I bought my 360 a while back mainly for the XBLA games, the only exclusives I really wanted were various Valve games and the Halo games, but the downloadable selection is amazing. Geometry Wars 2 would be my favorite.

I found the DS version of Space Invaders Extreme to be much better than the 360 version, but I've only played a few hours of the latter at a friend's house.

Recommendations: Outland, Castle Crashers, and definitely Bionic: Commando ReArmed.

General Chat / Re: The NBA thread

First post in this thread! I'm a big NBA fan and just thought I'd say... the Hawks looked like the Hawks of the regular season last night. The one time Jeff Teague looks like he's going to rise to the occasion everyone else can't do it.

Incoming post after a few months of inactivity! (I only had like 3 posts anyhow, but whatever.)

I got this game after following it for a while, and it thoroughly lived up to expectations. It's extremely fun and, unlike most downloadable shooters, includes a lengthy single-player campaign, which was the biggest selling-point for me. The multiplayer is fun, as well, but Swarm mode is merely okay. Not to be a whore, but if you want a reason why you should get it, I made a video review (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viCb-QJKXVQ) of it. If anyone wants to play this, my Xbox Live Gamertag is MV93.

(How do I include links in text? And am I still welcome in the Funhouse?)

Ah, whoops. Forgot to include that I only meant handhelds. D'oh.

Weirdest match-up: Matt Ryan v. Jordan Gross. I had never even heard of Jordan Gross, and I'm a huge NFL fan. I guess they needed someone from the Panthers, though.

What would they actually put on the cover if the 12th Man was elected?

I guess a stadium of fans.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: E3 2011 Predictions

I would actually say that permanently closed door glitch epitomizes everything that sucks about Other M. Sakamoto's shitty ass design philosophy didn't just make a game that was piss poor, it actually broke the game and made it unplayable if you attempt to play it the way you would play any other Metroid game.

Haha, I agree completely, great way to sum it all up. I'm so happy I just rented that from Gamefly.

As for E3 this year, I doubt we'll see the new Wii successor, but we will see the finale of the Wii with a few great games. I'm betting Pikmin 3 comes soon after, as well as some new Mario franchise.

I, too, am a bit saddened by the lack of content here, but launch titles have never really been huge games. With the exception of Super Mario 64 DS, most of Nintendo's first-party launch games have all been rather sparse. I'll still pick this up, though. Love me some Pilotwings!

I voted for Super Monkey Ball 3D, which I have ordered already, and also voted for Pilotwings. It will probably be a buy unless there really is only Wuhu Island to explore.

Are these the only game modes? If so... It will be kind of sad to see the myriad mini-games leave the series, but they have been pretty much awful since Super Monkey Ball 2 on the GameCube. I was also hoping for online multiplayer on this one, considering the emphasis on multiplayer mini-games. Have you also heard anything about the reported 16 characters in the game?

The return to analog-based controls for single-player will probably be enough for me to buy this game at launch, though.

Hello, all! I've been lurking here for a while without registering for a while, listening to podcasts and reading reviews and such, and just decided to join. I've never really been one for introductions, so I'll keep this simple, I suppose.

I'm a high-school student who lives in Atlanta... I like history, swimming competitively, and football. I'm really into Nintendo and SEGA video games, and I own a few consoles but my favorites are probably my Game Boy Advance and Dreamcast. I've recently played WarioWare Twisted on the GBA and picked up Shenmue for the Dreamcast... as for recent games, I just bought Mario Sports Mix and Bit Trip Flux. I also write some video game reviews for my friend's website, if you for some reason care.

See ya around!
