One of the bigger indie titles of Smash week has just announced its launch date.

Battle Princess Madelyn, a tribute to 16-bit action platformers developed by a three-person team, will be releasing on Switch December 6. The former Kickstarter project raised more than four times its initial funding goal. A Wii U version was also promised in the original funding, and will release in early 2019.

I'll get this on Wii U, fun to see the device still see some support in 2019.

I would have contributed to the Kickstarter, but there was no word on a physical release. I still haven’t seen any confirmation on that front. Battle Princess Madelyn looks great (though I was always terrible at Ghouls ‘n Ghosts) so I’ll keep an eye out.

There's a physical cart scheduled for an Asian release. Looks like English/Chinese/Japanese are supported, so I'm assuming it's intended for the Hong Kong market? Anyway I don't know if you'd wanna import when there's the off-chance it might get a Western physical release still, but it's out there I guess.

Seriously, this looks amazing.  Too bad it's coming out a day before Smash Bros so I won't be playing it anytime soon, but I'll certainly be buying it sometime in the future.
