Virtual Console Mondays: Super Star Soldier Confirmed
« on: November 27, 2006, 08:53:31 AM »
We get to play it today! Sometime. Whenever Nintendo decides to update the Virtual Console.  Update: SSS is now available!

Quick Update: Hudson's Super Star Solider is now available on Virtual Console for the standard TG-16 price of 600 Wii Points.  No other games have been added thus far.

Nintendo's "Virtual Console Mondays" seems to be more like "Virtual Console Monday Night/Tuesday Mornings." If everything goes as last week, we should expect new Virtual Console titles anywhere from late evening tonight to early morning tomorrow. What exactly is on the roster this week is a mystery, but Hudson went ahead and whet our appetites by announcing that their classic overhead shooter Super Star Soldier will be their contribution to the weekly update.

For more information on Super Star Soldier, click here to go to Hudson's official site.

We'll update this page with more of this week's Virtual Console details as we get them.

I hope the other game isn't something crappy like Urban Champion, but it probably will be.

What? They still have 15 other games to release before the end of the year. With only 4 mondays left after tonight, they would hve to have 3 or 4 games a week.

I'll bet since it's Hudson's game, Star Soldier is out first and Nintendo stuff will follow.

Well, this is a Hudson game not a Nintendo game. Maybe my facts are sketchy but I thought Nintendo was to release some of their games every Monday. So, this shouldn't be the only one. If that's the case then this is no better than XBox Live. Everyone has particular games they'd like to see on this service, and if Nintendo lollygags about getting them available then I don't see the value here.

Honestly, Nintendo should put up a poll every week with a list of games for people to vote on to see what game or games should be chosen for download. That would make a lot of people very happy, and Nintendo wouldn't have to all the guesswork. Not to mention voting in a poll would be kinda fun to see what game wins out.

Evan lied to us.    My faith in mankind has been lost.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Sorry. My guess was wrong. I'm upset at Nintendo.

Technically Nintendo didn't lie and with them that's usually all you can expect.  New VC games are supposed to come out Monday.  Did that happen this week?  Technically yes even if it was only one title.  I'm sure in Nintendo's mind that one title is enough to make them feel as if they're actually keeping their promises.

Golden Axe: I haven't tried multiplayer yet and I can't for a while because the only person I play video games with is my cousin and he rarely pops in. For single-player it ain't bad, for sure there will be better beat 'im ups(sp?) coming out for both NES and SNES (hopefully). I don't think it deserves the 800 points it has, maybe 500 points, but whatever.
