Yes, it seems that I had read the ad wrong. I'm sorry if I caused anyone trouble with my mistake. I feel like a loser now.

General Chat / RE:Internet Explorer/scumware problem(s)
« on: March 26, 2004, 07:08:25 PM »
I had a problem similar to this. You can read about it in This thread.

I was able to solve the problem with the adult links toolbar, however IE seems to maybe have been corrupted from this as I still get redirected to "the page cannot be displayed" page.  I just decided to switch over to Firefox, which has been working flawlessly. I highly suggest it for all IE users because it is just that amazing.

Well I did delete the MS.Cache virus (its a crappy process, you can't just delete it as it will just spawn back. Read about it here), which solved the whole problem with the Adult Links and pop-ups taking over my screen, however, I still have the problem with ads not loading on the PGC home page or the forums. I didn't get rid of IE because my family still uses it, but I have found that Mozilla Firebird suits me better, so that is why I use it. I guess my IE just got corrupted, seeing how I no longer have any spyware or viruses on my computer.

You can read all about Mozilla Firebird in this topic http://www.planetgamecube.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=18&threadid=6337
Other than that, I really don't know what else to do. I'm sorry

I have this exact same problem. I switched to Mozilla Firebird, and I get the same thing, however it does not redirect me to http://. like it does in IE. When I first had the problem, some "SearchITNow" ad would take over the ads on sites, yet now it only shows the "Page cannot be displayed screen on the add". The problem started to occur when my sister was on AIM and she clicked on a link in someones profile(it seems that this link could be found in everyones profile) that downloaded this Adult Links spyware that even after deleted, would spawn back every time the computer was turned on. I did find that I had the MS.Cache (not to sure if thats the full name) virus on my computer, which got rid of the Adult Links problem, however the problem with the http://. still occurs.  What is odd is that I only have the problem on PGC and the forums. I used to get by by right-clicking when the page loads and waiting until all of the ads on the site had finished loading.  My only suggestion is to switch to the Mozilla Firebird browser, like I did, as neither Ad-aware or Spybot has worked for me.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Gamecube has cracks/damages on it?
« on: December 20, 2003, 05:59:03 PM »
I believe that the fissures are caused by the injection molding process, where they plastic is injected with the paint. This causes a lot of stress on the plastic, and hence the crack-like appearance. This seems to be pretty standard with most Cubes.

Man do I feel stupid now. I can't believe I missed out on this, considering I do my ring of site-checking every day.

I'll probably pick one up when I get Mario Kart on Monday. It should look sweet with my Q.

Nintendo Gaming / Platinum Waverbird for U.S. on Wednesday?!
« on: November 15, 2003, 03:12:25 PM »
I was looking through the Best Buy advertisements and it showed that the platinum wavebird was to be available on Wednesday. I found this quite odd as Nintendo has not made any anouncments on a platinum wavebird for the U.S. as far as I know. Has anyone else seen this ad or know if this is true?

I found a copy of the game at Best Buy today when I was picking up the Matrix Reloaded. Too bad they didn't have the e-reader cards though.

I, like Hostile Creation, was Dr. Donez.

By the way Molobert, Wart is the final boss from Super Mario Bros. 2.

Ha, I win. I live just outside of Detroit and our power went out at roughly 4:25, and it came back on at 4:15. Quite a long 23 hours and 50 minutes it was.

There is now a theory that the problem originated in Cleveland. The current may have somehow reveresed, thus heading East rather then West, and caused the Lake Erie Loop to back up.

General Chat / Stanley Cup Playoffs
« on: June 12, 2003, 04:02:44 PM »
And who was in the Cup Finals in 1998? Thats right, the Red Wings.

Ok, I don't want to start a fight. Just one more thing, the ratings may have been so high because of the cinderella team (more so than Carolina last year), and the game 7. I know that there was a game 7 in 2001, but the population has increased since then.

Disregard that comment that dmbfan made. He doesn't know anything about hockey.

Anyways, I was being sarcastic and letting off some steam.

But I do feel that the Devils did not win with talent, but with some stupid system in which they wait for the other team to make a mistake and then they jump on it. Boring Hockey!

This is why hockey does not get the T.V ratings that it deserves. No one wants to watch a game where the puck is dumped in, taken back out, stopped in the nuetral zone, and dumped back in.

Doesn't matter, we all know who deserved to win.

Atleast Giguere got some recognition by winning the Conn Smyth.

I thought that I would bring this topic back, considering that Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals is tonight. I hope the ducks win, and I have them taking the cup in double overtime.

The one thing I liked about the old forums was that when PGC was down they didn't go down with it.

I doubt you would be able because I would think that the lights in the screen are built into the cover screen. Maybe the aren't and are just above the actual display, and the cover screen just sits over them. I haven't seen a replacement kit, so you may be out of luck.
