TalkBack / Re: Assassin's Creed III Review

Is there anything similar to the catacomb levels in Brotherhood and Revelations or the Da Vinci missions in Brotherhood? Those were my favorite parts of those games, but it seems like the colonial America setting wouldn't allow for that kind of thing.

They were my favorite in the series as well and there are... If you consider the Captain Kidd missions to be equivalent to the history of those games? In my opinion Assassin's Creed works better in a more ancient setting than modern. I enjoyed the game very much though. :)

TalkBack / Re: Unreal Engine 4 Can Run on Wii U

While UE4's engine's trailer looks amazing on its own, it doesn't seem all that hard to pull off lighting effects now. I also think UE3's graphics really were the big leap this passing gen. They were the defining moment this gen and if Wii U can pull off souped up UE3 graphics and still run a game that uses UE4 it's already at an advantage than the precursor systems. I stand by what I have been saying before, everyone is hyping up Sony and Microsoft's next consoles as being huge behemoths that are gonna blow away the PS3, Xbox 360, and the Wii U and make them seem obsolete. However both MS and Sony are in massive debt and a new console from each that uses highly new tech is gonna cost some serious $$ again. The consoles are gonna be comparable and equal to the Wii U in graphics processors and power, if only a slightly bit more powerful (look at Ps2 compared to Xbox, and GC, both of whom came out a whole year later). It's gonna be like the GC, PS2, Xbox era all over again. All it is gonna come down to is who's online, communication, partying, casual, hardcore, etc. infrastructure is going to be the best. Lastly whoever the 3rd Party publishers cling/develop for the most is who'll get the most games this gen.

They shoulda just made it have a totally different look. Along with that stupid name too... Wii U... -.-

At least could have called it the N-Joy. It's actually an English word, and it stands for Happiness and could be Nintendo Joy. Double entendres make the best names for products. Wii was this, but it sounded horrendous. If Nintendo intends to truly shed the Casual persona it has with the Wii. It should do this... but it's futile.

I could see Metroid+F-Zero being a relevant crossover since ya know, Captain Falcon is a Bounty Hunter and all the Universe can link together easily. But Star Fox!? It just baffles me because as much as I'd like to see this happen besides the format of Super Smash Bros. I don't want it to be like this...

I hope Retro is just making Star Fox, because if this is the case. It's gonna muddy up Metroid, and Star Fox is gonna be even more of a joke than it already is...

I have a feeling Retro is working on F-Zero... I just have this innate feeling they are, because why else would they be working on Mario Kart 3DS tracks and attempting to revive yet again another dead Nintendo franchise? It would be killer to have the game not only be a racer, but have some side story to it. If anyone can blend the series together and make it feel new and fresh again, it's Retro.

As for Platinum dealing with Star Fox, it makes me excited because I wonder what they are gonna do with the game. If it is anything close to Bayonetta/God of War with being able to go into the jet as well. This game is gonna kick so much ass! It's unlikely since Adventures was horrible, but Assault had alot of potential, but felt redundant due to the system limitations. Nowadays though, I think it's time for SF to go into another direction besides Aerial combat simulator. It could be Nintendo's answer to God of War.

High scores and Achievements are not in the same category. Achievement points are basically incentives in a game that you can either try for, or perhaps stumble over while playing the game. High scores take dedication and long instances of playtime to master the game to make a noteworthy high score. Although I like Achieves, I find them mostly a waste of time. There is no incentive to get 100% with a game with achievements. Basically what the OC is stating with SSBB, that made it so unique was that it had unlockable achieves. Meaning these achieves could not only be scored incentives like Achievements, but they could also be ways to get DLC, or other miscellaneous things like Costumes, side quests, minigames, music, new characters, etc. The potential is vast and if Nintendo capitalizes on this, it would bring alot of people back to playing their games, since 90% of them are single player, non-online. Nintendo would be wise to follow Microsoft's lead with having user-based accounts and having them be able to see other friends online. Follow the silver/gold platform. Having silver be free and still able to play online, but unable to use things such as voice chat or free downloads on basic connection speeds. While gold would be like $29.99 for a year and be able to use all of the above and some additions to the side like better download rates and higher console-internet perception.
