theaveng, you are not a very tactful bastard are you?

I know exactly what it is, but I felt like giving a laymans explanation, for....the layman out there.

Progressive scan is an option with certain gamecube games. Basically it's like the difference between watching something through window blinds or opening that sucker up. Pretty much. And I am pretty sure it is available in AU, check Nintendo of Australia's website to see if they have the cables available there.

Hmm...can we now guess that Sonic CD will get a major update, and be released separately?

They just have to make a GBA version, it doesn't have to be the exact game it was on GG.

No, we aren't wrong yet. The US model is said to be changed in some way, the disc most likely. But we have 3 months to find out.

Don't forget, this is supposed to be indicative of a sales trend. The installed base is important, but things are a changing....Zelda, F-Zero. (more to be announced). What more do you need?

Do the side bars on everything not in widescreen format (that's pretty much everything, right?) look bad/get annoying? I'm used to black bars on the top and bottom of my screen for widescreen movies, but I don't think I would feel comfortable with them on the side. (That's just how the eyes work, that's why theatres screens are wide in the first place.)

"3:2 pulldown" - huh?

What's the smallest HDTV worth buying, and widescreen worth it or not? Is a large CRT with component inputs a good alternative? There may be some financial issues, but mainly I don't want to deal with looking at jaggies.

Please answer my questions.

I wonder why too....We need to pressure companies to allow unrestricted character saves on their games. It always seems like a game with a 3 game save limit, I need just one more.....then I have to pull out another card any time I want to use that file. Shouldn't have to with a mem card 251.
Also, with PSO...just 4 characters, but xbox gets 12, why? Because the harddrive....doesn't make sense to me, just let us add more 2 more character files if we want.

short, but maybe some replay value with the GBA minigames, especially the Tetris style one.

Jollus,

Can you tell me how the analog controls are configurable, specifically, is the sensitivity on the L and R triggers configurable? Also, how does the "click" factor in? Thanks.

General Gaming / Metroid Prime Freezing
« on: March 16, 2003, 05:32:45 AM »
I don't know the real reason, but it seems to happen during loading. Metroid Prime is loading all the time, even while you're walking through hallways, and near doors.

This page explains it, and I was able to use it to get past a spot that wouldn't stop freezing.

I don't have the TV either, but some games say that the TV may set itself to 16:9 mode automatically, just because you set the game to progressive scan mode, (I think) even sometimes though the game may not support 16:9.

This sounds cool, especially if GameSpy will take those LAN games online (um....BBA and broadband is needed?)
Didn't SEGA have an online development kit also?

Phantasy Star Online: Episode I & II -- GBA games available to download (after you beat the requisite online quests of course) are Chu Chu Rocket! Puzzle and NiGHTS -SCORE ATTACK-. Puyo Pop Endless Version was available during Valentines. The Tiny Chao Garden is available from an offline quest, and the special Tails chao can then be uploaded to Sonic Adventure 2: Battle.

You talking about the BBA or modem? why couldn't either have enough bandwith, it works with PSO online, why not a direct LAN?

There are 16 in order to avoid signal interference. Only in the best condition possible could all 16 be used. Would be nice though, but regular controllers are still good and 16 players could do some LAN.

As I recall it does tell you. There's a second light just for the recharger, if it's orange it's charging and is done when it turns green....something like that. I don't know if it turns off automatically, but this light change might suggest it.

that's a good idea, because even though the BBA could do that, I have the modem adapter which cannot do this. I don't want to take it out and replace it to do LAN, but if Nintendo sold a simple adapter for a much lower price, everything would be right in the world when those LAN games they talked about are released.

Speaking of color, Olimar has red gloves and backpack, and the other one has blue.

Maybe the yellow means the other guy is on standby or auto. Olimar is red so the red light on "up" is active. Maybe those icons are little versions of the backpacks.

Ain't speculation fun.
