Good thing you're running Opera

BTW did you know today Opera Software gives away free registration codes for all supported platforms (except the mobile version)?

Here's a link: http://my.opera.com/community/party/reg.dml

Ok, thanks. Yeah I'm thinking about simple GUI apps (or a simple UI part at least), I think I'll give it a try though, out of curiosity.

Back on topic: is there a PGC review of Killer7 comming soon?

KDR, is that Haskell? Is it a good prototyping language, what's your impression? I'm looking for something to use for quick coding for GTK and OS X, and it looks like Haskell has that, along with the curiosity factor (I've never done anything meaningful using a functional language.)

Seeing how IGN gave it 8.1 mainly bacause of an awkward control scheme I only get more interested in the title - after all i loved p.n.03, which got it's (relatively) low scores for the same reasons.

Now let's see what the PGC staff have to say about this game.

Preinstalling a robust and easy to use consumer OS on every HDD for PS3 is actually very cool. If the pricing is right they're going to put in your hands a workstation considerably more powerful than any desktop PC currently available. Cheaper, much cheaper. That's very very nice, I like it

If you need more space - get another HDD, I don't really want to permanently store my data on the root partition, thank you very much.

They're gonna get hurt some by having people taking the hardware and skipping the software, but in the long term it might pay-off by luring more devs on the platform by gaining popularity as a programming model. We'll have to wait and see if the idea of a multimedia supercomputer is viable.

edit: spelling

I found RSS to be very convenient for news sites. It might work with the forums also.

p.n.03 is an insanely fun game I just restarted my attempts to get the papillon suit, don't know why it never worked for me... (beat the game several times) - now I'm going to try if "professional" on each of the training missions gives me the thing.

Try removing the lines with "form2" and "form3" - there are no such forms in this HTML document.

IMHO BB-only or not doesn't really matter, what MS did right is throwing LOTS of money into it, as simple as that. Same goes for xbox in general, obviously.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: DS = GBA 2?
« on: July 07, 2004, 02:32:16 AM »
We've been told already by NOE GBA 2 will be out 2006/2007, depending on DS's success. That is - if DS surpasses Nintendo's expectations then GBA 2 will be out 2007, not that much of a delay, just some time to push more features in the thing. They will coexist eventually.

So it's a straight "no", no PR, no BS, DS is _not_ GBA2.

Don't forget about good old Europe, where MS still doesn't have it the way they want With the exception of UK, of course, which seems to be more a part of US than EU...

17
Yep, DS is going to be GBA compatible And yes, the DS games will come in carts, not regular flash memory though (e.g. SD), it's a new (cheaper) technology - http://www.matrixsemi.com/ AFAIK

Give me games And the prospects are only getting better for the GameCube IMHO in this regard...

Oh, and you'll have to give Nintendo a proper credit for the best _ever_ first party controller - the wavebird So that should rule out "e)", probably.

Low-res version of IGN's video is available for non-insiders also (in 3 parts):

IGN RE4 Videos page

It does show some new places indeed. It's actually shows just a more skilled player, as opposed to all the E3 movies available until now (which were definitely lame, player-skill-wise) And yes it's fun to watch.

Here's an interesting opinion of gameindustry.biz on the matter......

Comment: The Battle Of Los Angeles
http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?section_name=pub&aid=3464

They seem to be totally unimpressed by MS's presentation, mainly because of the lack of surprises and actual news.
The funny thing is GI.biz always seemed to me a little pro-xbox biased...

In short, the rumor is Kuju are making a "strategy focused" game with action elements.

OK, just for the reference - I've got the Blackbird suit finally, after beating easy mode again, but this time with all the suits purchased. Now I'm hoping to get the ultra hard mode unlocked, by running for the second time trough hard mode.
