Nintendo Gaming / RE: Component Cable Question
« on: January 28, 2004, 01:35:12 PM »
I have had a chance to try both S-vid and Component.  And personally I would say that the component cables are worth the extra investment.  I noticed that someone here said that text would not improve, but I would disagree with that.  Text definitely improves, with component cable you get no bleeding or text smeer.  I was also using the component cable on a normal, no HDTV, tv, looked superb.

Has anyone confirmed this with Nintendo?

Seems like a scam to me, the paint job is too weak to have been done by a professional.

I would classifiy it as worst air brushing ever to be honest.

These speakers can definitly fit the bill for DVD watching and Video gaming.  I listen to them pretty much with the bass turned way down or else it is just too damn loud, (I live in an apartment).  The nice thing about this setup is that you can switch inputs using the fully functional remote.

So plug your GC into the analog inputs, your DVD into the optical input, your cable box into the coax intput and you are good to go.

I was not dissapointed with these speakers in any way.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Worst GCN Games of ALL Time
« on: December 22, 2003, 12:19:17 PM »
I would have to say that there are a lot of crappy games out there.

I played Zoo Cube once, please don't laugh, and it had to be one of the most dull games I have ever played.

Thank god it was only a rental, but even then I still feel a little burned.

The lion roar was kinda cool though, raauugh.

Sounds like the same thing that was happening to DreamCast systems awhile back, the laser reader was out of adjustment and the DC could not read the discs properly.

I repaired my DC using a web resource.

I am not sure if a web resource exists for fixing you GC laser.

Anyways, check the DC information and mabey you can figure out something for the GC.

Good luck.

Seems like Nintendo is getting hit hard with new subscribers this morning.

Their online store is shut down.

OK now I saw the context in the other thread, but I still don't think that the real PSP will look anything like this image.  And the screen does look like they just pasted it on there.

Nintendo Gaming / Official news on the Zelda bonus disc

http://www.nintendo.com/zeldaclassic/

You have to try the link a few times before it will go through it seems.

Looks like those who buy the 2 games get a bit of a head start on the disc, Nov 11 versus Nov 17 for those who subscribe.

The only good thing about Zellers is that not a lot of people know that they sell video games, so sometimes I can pick up a hot item if I was too lazy to pre-order.

Also, the people who work there are dumb tits, and they sell things they are not supposed too.  Such as certain demo disks that say "NOT FOR RESALE" clearly on the front cover.  Guess I should'nt call them dumb because they hooked me up, sorry Zellers.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Wave Bird too heavy

The kid was pretty skinney, food and some weights would definitly help him out, with the holding the WB and the ladies<--doubtfull

I could have also dissed his comment by saying to him, "Shut up, you are stupid and weak.  Go home before I sic a Care Bear on you."

Hmmm... now I know what to thank for my huge hairy forarms and 12" dia wrists, props to my Wave Bird and the hours spent playing my GC!

Nintendo Gaming / Wave Bird too heavy
« on: November 03, 2003, 10:09:02 AM »
I was playing some GC with one of my cousins friends over the weekend during a family get together.  He is a member of the younger generation, 14-16 yrs old.

And he had an interesting comment on the Wavebird, some how we were talking about the wavebird, and how good it was because we were passing it around playing SCII, this guy then said the controller was too heavy.  Too HEAVY?!!?

Normally I would dismiss this comment out right, and I did because I laughed at him and called him a panty waist.  But, the comment sounded like it was rooted from some other discussion he had had dissing the Wavebird.

I do not frequent any other forums, and I was just wondering if this was a common aurgument against the Wavebird?

Anyways, IMHO the Wavebird rocks, and is the best controller I have ever had the pleasure to use.  I am not sure why this is bugging me so much, it could be that I really like the wavebird, and the fact that anyone can find anything wrong with it amazes me.

Or else it could be a deeper reason, and something that has been bothering me for awhile, that is that Nintendo does not seem to get a fair shake with anything it does.  Nintendo deserves a lot more recognition than what it recieves.  Nintendo strikes me as one of the most innovative entertainment companies in existance.  For example the Wave bird, connectivity (all though I am not really thrilled about the idea yet, at least it is something new), a system that that has graphics that are better than one and comparable to the other for 1/3 the price, software designed to bring groups of people together, and these are just the present day examples, don't get me started on Nintendo's history

Sounds like the game is fazing in out of the Matrix reality.

Any of you other games doing this, or just SSB?  Try another copy of the game if you can, see if the same thing happens.

That is a good point, everyone is tallking about how unsuccesfull Nintendos Cube has been, but hardly any mention of Xbox's mediocre launch into the console biz is made.   The Xbox is losing money overall, you can't say the same thing about the Cube.  Peoples scale for success and failure seems very scewed to me.

I know this is all supposedly part of MS master plan, and they like to use the 'loss leader' to gain market share.  But, to say that the one system that is making money for the company is not doing as well as the system that is losing money sounds crazy to me.

Welcome to crazy world.

Midway cancelling, too funny, I won't miss them.

So far the only company I miss that has left the Cube is Sega Sports, I really wanted to buy their 2004 hockey.  Oh well as soon as Sega's 2003 gets cheap I will buy that one.

Midway leaving=no loss

Still sucks to be have any company not supporting your console as it begins to create a negative image as a losing console in companies and publics perspective.  Not a good sign for Nintendo, but they still have my support.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: I'm an idiot...
« on: October 29, 2003, 04:19:55 AM »
I am in the same boat, I finished Eternal Darkness once through and am now half way through the second.  But, the cube has had a huge influx of good games recently and it is hard to keep even the play time with the buy time.  Oh well, it is not really a bad situation to be in, could be worse could be no good games to play.

Yo.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: online games: how many are made?
« on: October 24, 2003, 09:41:44 AM »
Once they release some LAN games you are only a couple more steps away from online capabilites, I would not be surprised if some websight figures out a way to put the game online after that.  Akin to Gamspy, or that other one PGC recently reported on, where they are doing some Beta testing with online play.

I still belive Nintendo will come up with full fledge online support this generation, as they cannot go into the next console battle without a solid online strategy.  I also believe that Nintendos experimentation with LAN is baby steps towards that goal.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: the deal with the new star wars?
« on: October 23, 2003, 11:47:04 AM »
I'm loving the 1982 starwars.  Vector graphics rule!

Now if I could just find a way to return 'Rebel Strike' and keep the bonus disc I will be happy.  The bastards at EB made me buy the game with the pre-order disk at the same time.  Tricky, very tricky.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: 1080 Avalanche or SSX3
« on: October 22, 2003, 11:38:31 AM »
Canada ROCKS!

Okay, who am I kidding we suck.

It's not us really, its those arrogant anti-american politicians the East keeps voting into power that give us a bad rep.  The west was all for supporting the US in its war on Iraq, but I guess you guys won't make the distinction and you still won't buy our beef.

Hopefully our next leader will be better at promoting US/Canada relations and we can get back to business, after all is'nt that all that really matters.

Back to topic, I am looking forward to SSX3 having enjoyed 2 a lot, but not sure I will buy either game as I have bought too many games lately, and still have not had much time to play any of them.

Yah, should be the Z button, would never be able to press it accidently, hardly able to hit it when I want too, LOL.

For the most part though, the control scheme works awesome, no real complaints, and I have had a lot fewer resets then when I first started, but still when it happens every once and awhile, pure frustration.
