Nintendo Gaming / RE: AFL 2006
« on: January 30, 2005, 03:07:10 PM »
Yeah, I wouldn't expect an AFL game this year, as the deal was just struck and there was probably no intentions of such a game anyway, so they still have a lot of work to do.

This sucks, I'm a huge sports gamer and now the good games won't be made anymore (ESPN NFL 2k6, etc.). I hate EA!!!!!

Yes, it's easy to pickup.  It teaches you the basics along the way, and in general I'd say it's a much smoother ride than the RE Remake was to a first-timer.

Awesome, thanks for the input Pro.

I was thinking about picking up Eternal Darkness (even though I didn't care for it when I first tried it) since it's only $10, and I figure I should give it more time than one rental before I make a final judgement on the game. My question is, since I'm a big RE series fan, would ED be a game that I could jump right into and not have much of a learning curve?

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Resident Evil 4 Help

I chose the path without El Gigante and ran into two chainsaw enemies who were quite easy to beat and gave me a key to advance on. I'm not sure if El Gigante would have been an easier route, but I found this way easy, especially since you can have Ashley hide in dumpster like boxes while you go fight, that way you don't have to try and protect her.

Hope this helps.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Where did all the Gamers Go?

I didn't pick up a Cube until a year and a half into it's life because I was hooked on my Xbox. It had the games I wanted to play, while at that point in time the Cube didn't. And it's still like that a lot, but I give a lot of Cube games a try to see how I like it and most of the time I like the Xbox version of the game better for it's online capabilities (depending on the game). But I still enjoy my Cube (especially with RE4 out now).

It was a good hypothesis, though. Never hurts to take a guess. It may be that I got my Platinum Cube when they were first released, so maybe the newer Platinum Cubes are different. I'm not sure. It could also very well be everyone has a different idea of what's purple and what's pink.

Mine's Platinum and it's pink.

I picked up my copy today and I must say, I have yet to be disappointed with the game.

I got the demo from preordering RE4 and must say it's well worth it. And to anyone who doesn't have RE0 or RE1, I highly suggest you get the games. They're awesome (aside from the fact the camera angles suck).

Anyone else notice that in the new Best Buy ad, they have RE4 as a Player's Choice game, and that you can get the Player's Choice games 2 for $30?

Nintendo Gaming / RE: DS vs PSP: An intelligent comparison
« on: October 06, 2004, 07:59:19 PM »
I'm probably not going to get either right away, but I do want a PSP more than a DS. There's really nothing about the DS that just sticks out and interests me to where I must have a DS. The dual screen is a waste IMO, and I haven't read much about the games. Overall I like the look of the PSP a lot more than the DS.

General Gaming / RE: Keyboard & mouse for PS2 & Xbox

It was only time before such a thing was released. And I'm to the point where I don't care that it's released. The way I see it, if a gamer wants to use a keyboard and mouse, then they should play games on the PC.

Forza Motorsport looks like an awesome game. Easily one of the best lookin' racers in development right now. Hopefully it lives up to Microsoft's claims.

As did I. Spong isn't a very reliable source for anything. I'll wait until E3 to see exactly what Nintendo and the others will be showing.

Since the link goes to Microsoft.com, I don't trust it. Just like I wouldn't trust it if it was on Sony.com or Nintendo.com. All three make it sound as if they're doing better than the others, all of them lie about sales figures. Which is the main reason why I don't bother with sales figures for consoles.

Yeah, that's what I've read as well. I think Sony will stay in-house so they don't have to pay another company to do work that they're fully capable of doing themselves.

The problem with playing with friends on the same system, especially for shooters, is you have to use a split screen. With online play, you get a full screen.

I think fan input should be kept to a simple "Do you like this idea? Why or why not?".

Same question could be asked for Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow (or as some people will call it Splinter Cell 2).

There's only a few games I'm hoping will be shown at E3 2004.

1.) Half-Life 2
2.) Metroid Prime 2
3.) Madden NFL 2005

Hopefully Halo 2 will be out before E3 2004.....hopefully.

That's a funny comic Bill. That did suck about SFA, not being able to skip the cut scenes. Not to mention the language they used was annoying.
