Discuss in talkback!

While talking about Yasuhiro Wada's new project, Hometown Story, we got sidetracked a bit.

When we met with Toybox President Yasuhiro Wada to discuss his latest game, the forthcoming 3DS game Hometown Story (which looks great; read our impressions soon), our conversation took a Nintendo turn.

When discussing influences on Hometown Story, it segued into how the Disk System version of The Legend of Zelda was a major influence on Harvest Moon back in the '90s. Wada said that if he could work on one Nintendo franchise, it would be the Zelda series. Although he quickly corrected himself. "It would be Zelda, maybe," he said. "But I think I'd rather just enjoy that as a player."

As a player, he claimed his top three Zelda titles were A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, and Wind Waker; Wind Waker is his favorite.

"The first half of Wind Waker is like 200% right. It's like better than 100%, but the second half is more like 50% right," he told us, showing that, like most people, he wasn't a huge fan of the Triforce hunt.

Naturally, since he's a fan of the original, he's excited for the October release of Wind Waker HD, which he said "I heard the balance was tweaked for the better, so I'm hoping it will be closer to 300%."

And, for the record, Wada's favorite Harvest Moon animal is the horse.

Do you agree or disagree with his love of Wind Waker and the horse in Harvest Moon? Let us know below, and stay tuned for our full interview with Yasuhiro Wada, where we talk about marriage, influences, and more.
