Everyone has different opinions on what’s good, so we decided to put together a little helper for ya! From imports to domestic, even including 2 GBC titles! Without further ado…please welcome…

Planet GameCube’s Top 5 Must Have GBA Launch Picks!

Billy Berghammer:

1. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 - Turn up some skate punk and ride them rails! Tony Hawk has been superbly recreated for the GBA. All the tracks, boards, skaters, and Tony Hawk love have been slammed into this tiny cart. If you are a fan of the series, this is a must have.

2. Konami Krazy Racers - Don’t wait for Mario Kart! Get this now! Kart racing at it’s best. Konami has a possible Mario Kart Killer on their hands!

3. Castlevania: Circle of the Moon - Spooky eerie Castlevania old school love. Haven’t we told you to get this already? Drac is back and he needs a pleasant ass whoopin’!

4. Mr. Driller 2 (Import) - I’m not quite sure why this didn’t make the US launch, or why it’s not on any US launch lists. Are you down with Driller? Get this game. It’s another excellent puzzle title for the Game Boy Advance.

5. Kuru Kuru Kururin (Import) - Yes, the funky line game definitely makes my must have list for the GBA. A weird puzzler/racer has definitely stole my heart. It may be cutesy, but if you care about what is important…which is GAMEPLAY, then this is a must have title for anyone. Multiplayer…this is an absolute blast to play…and you need only one cart. And remember…you can import this in English from Europe next week!

Max Lake:

1. F-Zero: Maximum Velocity - This game is a must for F-Zero fans and newcomers alike. It's challenging, fun and looks great. It packs a serious old school punch and adds several new challenges to the F-Zero arena. Not only that, it's quite aesthetically pleasing too.

2. Castlevania: Circle of the Moon - I've only played a little bit but what I saw I loved immediately. A lot of people compare the feel of this game to Symphony of the Night, which was a lot like Super Metroid. Throw in new characters, great gameplay, spooky music (which includes remixes of classic Castlevania tunes!) and excellent graphics and you have a game that your GBA simply can't miss out on. This is the launch title to have and it's not if I'll be buying this launch title, but when...

3. Chu Chu Rocket - There are many Nintendophiles out there and other folks who foolishly overlooked the Dreamcast in lieu of the PS2. Such unfortunate souls have never experienced the simplistic joy that is Sonic Team's Chu Chu Rocket. It's a puzzle game but not like those of the Tetris variety. Regardless, it's addictive, intelligent & fun yet very basic. For some odd reason, the kooky graphics (cartoon cat & mice -from space mind you) remind me of Pac Man. Oh yeah, and it has an insane multiplayer mode. All this and more has come to GBA & the multiplayer mode is one you can share with friends with just one cart, so there's no excuse for 'em not to play. They'll want to. Get it & thank your lucky stars Sega is developing for Nintendo's platforms.

4. Rayman Advance - Believe it or not, I have never played a Rayman Game. It is somewhat surprising, as the character has appeared on practically every console. Rayman Advance is a new game to me whereas Mario Advance (while great) is something I've played a lot. Rayman looks amazing too. The graphics are so vivid it is hard to believe this game is on a handheld.

5. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 - A few staffers have talked about having to adjust to the new perspective. You mean the one that looks like 720 or Skate or Die? While sporting an old school perspective, this minuscule marvel plays almost identically to versions of the game on other home consoles. Amazing.

Justin Nation:

1. Kuru Kuru Kururin (Import) - What more is there to explain, get your rotating stick through the maze... NOW! This game will 0wnZ J00!

2. Super Mario Advance - For you Mario completists out there this is a no-brainer. OK, so it isn't a 'true' Mario and it is probably the weakest of the series as a whole but you also get classic Mario Brothers action and imagine your guilt not having every game with the fat Italian plumber.

3. ChuChu Rocket - Absolutely one of the wackiest games I've ever played with 3 other people, if you can get a few friends together this game is a total riot. You'd never believe you could be so happy making a bunch of cats and mice run everywhere.

4. Konami Krazy Racers - You know you're hurting without your Mario Kart fix at launch so why not pick up the next best thing? Hit the track with Goemon and his odd assortment of fellow racers, just pretend it is all of your favorite Nintendo characters if you must as you go.

5. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 - I've only played Tony Hawk 2 on the PC but even in that short time I must admit this game impressed the hell out of me and from just one look at the video of it running on GBA it appears moving it over to the handheld went very well. It is a unique style of game with a ton of challenges and a ton to learn... but it is plain fun.

Jonathan Metts:

1. Castlevania: Circle of the Moon - There is not enough time in the day for me to explore Dracula's castle. CotM may not have the best graphics or sound of all the launch titles, but it's more fun and addictive than any game I've played in a long time, handheld or no. GET THIS GAME.

2. Kuru Kuru Kururin - I don't know how long it'll take for NOA to wise up and release this gem in America, but I know that I'll be importing it from Europe after June 22. It is the GB Tetris of our day, and I want it bad.

3. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 - I wish I had more natural talent for this game, because I think that'd help me enjoy it a lot more. Still, even if you suck like me, THPS2 is a technically impressive and (much more importantly) an extremely tight and fun game. It's probably the most accurate console-to-handheld port I've ever seen.

4. F-Zero: Maximum Velocity - I'm probably gonna buy this game once I finish more of my current titles and get enough money for it. F-Zero on SNES is still one of the fastest and most addictive racers on the planet, and a sequel full of new tracks and cars can't go wrong in my book.

5. Chu Chu Rocket - Although I played the Dreamcast version only briefly (and sucked at it), this half-port/half-sequel looks like a real winner that doesn't deserve to be ignored amidst more flashy launch titles. Multiplayer with one cart cinches the decision, period.

Mike Hrusecky:

1. Super Mario Advance - A must-buy for die-hard fans with a nostalgic edge, or for the newer gamers not familiar with Mario's distant NES past. The game is improved with a multi-player option, and that's good enough for me. This one's at the top of my list.

2. F-Zero: Maximum Velocity - I was a big fan of F-Zero on SNES, and this portable middle child (better than the SNES version, not as good as N64's) is a nice way to kill some time. It's considered to be more difficult than its predecessors, but many fans will see it as a new challenge. Again, the 4-user link-up is a nice added bonus.

3. Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons - These titles may be for the Game Boy Color, but that's no excuse to miss out on these brand new, awesome Zelda offerings. These sister titles are great Adventure titles alone, but even better when played together. Your new GBA will play these games, so pick them up!

4. Fire Pro Wrestling - It's not from THQ, but Fire Pro Wrestling is absolutely no slouch. It harbors the same features you would expect out of a console wrestling game: arcade-style action, create-a-wrestler, a munch load of wrestlers and moves, and of course multiplayer. Many of the names included are famous only in Japan, but for pure pro wrestling entertainment, you can't pass this one up.

5. Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 - Meshing the gameplay of the console games with the portability of the GBA, THPS2 is a solid buy. You'll be surprised how this game shows off GBA's power. All skater, sports, and pseudo-puzzle fans should check this one out.

Rick Powers:

1. Super Mario Advance. It's not a Nintendo launch without a Mario game, and while Super Mario Bros. 2 is considered the weakest of the game's lineage, it's worth it for Mario Bros. Old School fun!

2. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2. Even non-skating fans should pick up this great title. It's an outstanding technical achievement, not to mention loads of fun.

3. Castlevania: Circle of the Moon. The moody graphics and music and unique DSS card system make this game a great time waster.

4. 4-Way Link Cable. You're going to love playing Mario Bros. Battle mode with a couple of friends, but it's not going to happen without a cable. Cheaper than a game, and opens up a lot more fun.

5. Light - You're gonna need one if you plan on playing Castlevania anywhere except outside. There are a lot of lights out right now, so grab one with your system.

Jon Lindemann:

1. Castlevania: Circle of the Moon - Anybody that's played Symphony of the Night must have this game. While I'm disappointed that you can't manually swing your whip around, Circle of the Moon's gameplay is so engrossing that it's hard to put this one down. Like Symphony of the Night, the macabre theme and RPG elements are what set this game apart from your typical action platformer.

2. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 - While I had a hard time adjusting to the camera angle and controls at first, once I adjusted to them I was in Tony Hawk heaven once again. THPS2's graphics show off exactly what the GBA can do, and the gameplay is as addicting as ever. I didn't think it could be done, but Activision has put THPS2 in the palm of your hand.

3. Super Mario Advance - I may not pick this one up (I've beaten SMB2 on the NES multiple times), but this is a must-buy for those who haven't played any of the NES Super Mario games. The game itself is fun as hell, and the Mario Bros. multiplayer mode is enough of an added bonus to make this cart a really good deal. A classic.

4. F-Zero: Maximum Velocity - Racing games aren't really my thing, but F-Zero is great any way you cut it. There's lots of new tracks and vehicles so this one won't get old any time soon. I could complain about its high difficulty level, but the old-school gamer in my loves a challenge. An excellent racer.

5. Chu Chu Rocket - Frantic, frenetic fun. Once you get the hang of things (and learn to keep up with its blazing speed), you'll be hooked. And on top of all that, a four-player mode only requiring one cartridge.

Ed Shih:

1. Castlevania: Circle of the Moon - Action/adventure fans should love this. Graphics and sound are good but its gameplay is what sets it apart. Now that more people have played it, it seems like my initial impressions as Castlevania meets Super Metroid is a common feeling.

2. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 - While the isometric camera takes a bit of getting used to, once that barrier is crossed, then you're in for pure Tony Hawk goodness. Plus, the natural 2 minute time limit in Career mode makes it a great game for that brief gaming fix during breaks at work. :)

3. Rayman Advance - Beautiful graphics and solid gameplay (well, based off of playing at E3). For those that have already played Super Mario Bros. 2 on the NES (like me), this may be the platformer of choice for GBA launch.

4. F-Zero: Maximum Velocity - Solid graphics and tight control make this a good choice for racing fans. Admittedly, I haven't tried GT Advance, but I can say that F-Zero is a very good package in all departments (graphics, sound, gameplay, replayability). After all, it's F-Zero on GBA, what more need to be said?

5. Fire Pro Wrestling - Though I haven't played this yet, I'm a fan of wrestling games...and all signs point to this being a great one. Plus, the Fire Pro series has got a good reputation in Japan and this one seems no different.

Andres Rojas:

1. Castlevania: Circle of the Moon - It's the third game in the Dracula X series, what more do you need to know? Oh, you mean you didn't know it was a mix of old school Castlevania and Metroid? You mean you DIDN'T know that the series is known for excellent music and gameplay? Shame shame...

2. Chu Chu Rocket - One of the most addictive puzzle games I've ever played. It's portable now, and 4-player games are possible off of one cart! What more could a gamer ask for?

3. Super Mario Advance - I can remember getting Mario 2 for my NES when I was but a wee lad. I can also remember having a blast with the game. The time I spent on this game at E3 showed me that it's been far too long since Toad and the Princess were playable characters in a Mario game. :D

4. F-Zero: Maximum Velocity - It's F-Zero. It's fast, it's challenging, it's got killer music. What more do you need?

5. Fire Pro Wrestling Advance - I am the proud owner of Fire Pro Wrestling D for the DC and from everything I've seen, this portable version is just as good as the console version... meaning, this is one of the best damned wrestling games on any system, and probably THE best wrestling game on any portable.

Mike Sklens:

1. F-Zero: Maximum Velocity - This is Nintendo's classic racer. It combines fast speed and great control. Plus, the theme is awesome. Wipeout will never touch the original high speed hovercraft racer that is F-Zero.

2. Castlevania: Circle of the Moon - I haven't played it yet but I hear nothing but good things. David has been hounding my ass to get it. So I figure that if he cares so much that I get this game, it must be really freakin' good.

3. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 - The Tony Hawk series is great. I used to shun it for it's blatant commercialism. Then I picked it up and it is just way too much fun. Its simple premise is awesome and the level design in top notch. And, oh yeah, the graphics are incredible for the GBA.

4. Chu Chu Rocket - CCR is one of the best puzzle games ever. It's fun alone, but it is a total bash with 3 friends. Plus, you don't even need 4 game paks. The simple premise is excelled by the incredibly fast game play and all the extra effects that the bonus mice can have.

5. GT Advance Championship Racing (Import) - This is the definitive racer for the GBA. The graphics are oh so slick. The controls are super tight. The challenge is pretty high up there too. This game is so loaded with extras like parts and even 2 bonus modes. But make sure you import it. Trust me, you really want that save battery.

David Trammell:

1. Castlevania: Circle of the Moon - This is the best launch game in my opinion. It's an all-new adventure, unlike many of the other top picks (Mario, Tony Hawk and Rayman). The game features an expansive castle to explore and fast action with RPG elements such as finding new items and raising levels. It's original, beautiful and worth every penny I spent on it.

2. F Zero: Maximum Velocity - Nintendo pioneered the futuristic racer with the SNES version of this title. The GBA shows its muscle by upping the graphics considerably. The game features twenty new tracks and eight cars (some of which must be unlocked). It's a solid, although sometimes difficult, futuristic racer that will make you forget the floaty control of the N64 version (provided you choose a car with "balance"). The multiplayer mode doesn't hurt either.

3. Super Mario Advance - If you've never played Super Mario Bros. 2, this is a great way to take it for a spin. Although very different from your usual Mario games, it's still a good platformer with multiple characters and inventive level design. The inclusion of an updated version of classic Mario Bros. that can be played in different modes with up to four people makes this game much more attractive if you plan on linking up with friends.

4. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 - I'm don't think I'm picking this game up. However, it's only because I have played the Dreamcast version inside out and this game is practically a direct port. That said, if I wasn't all Tony Hawked out, this game would be in my GBA right now. Even if it's a bit hard to control from the new perspective at times, it captures the heart of Tony Hawk 2 including every stage, trick, grind and skater.

5. Rayman Advance - I don't have this title yet, but I'm thinking about getting it. I played it at E3 for a minute and I got a glimpse of beautiful environments, tight play control and quirky character design. If you've already played Super Mario Bros. 2 and you're looking for an alternative, this should do nicely.

Michael Cole:

1. Castlevania: Circle of the Moon - You need this game. Even if you aren't big on Castlevania, get this game. Just don't plan on playing this with a GBA light when it's dark....

2. Super Mario Advance - Yes, it is a remake, and yes, it isn't the greatest Mario ever. But this is a game you'll periodically want to go back to. And if you are fortunate enough to have someone to play multiplayer with, this is a MUST.

3. F-Zero: Maximum Velocity - OK, well, you don't need this game--In fact, I may not get it. If you can wait a few months for Mario Kart Advance, go right ahead. But if you're not too strapped for cash, this is a great buy. From what little I've played, it's a great way to pass the time.

4. Rayman Advance - Ubisoft may not publish pure gems all the time, but when they get their internal teams to work, the game made is golden. If you've played the original on the Jaguar/PSX/PC (and got anywhere in it) you may not want to spend the money for this

port, but otherwise, you can't miss out on the original Rayman--Now more rookie friendly!!!

5: Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 - If you like Hawk games, this is a game you won't want to pass up. If you're like me, and not a fan, you can save that money for another day, or buy one of the Zelda GBC games instead. I wish I had the money....
