The best entries in our 7th birthday contest are *finally* announced!
First, we here at PGC would like to thank all our fans who entered. Without you, these contests simply wouldn't be possible. Our most heartfelt thanks go out to each of you. Of course, we also want to thank our fantastic sponsors one more time:
Nintendo of America
Lik-Sang
D3Publisher of America
Capcom Entertainment of America
And now to our winners. We are proudly displaying each one below. Some images had to be resized, but simply click on the ones that are captioned to see the image in its original size.
Jesse Lowther
When this picture was received, minds were simply blown. On a very basic level, the picture simply speaks for itself. Then, with slightly more observation, the detail in the picture begins to sink in. To put it simply: we were floored.
Jesse adds: "The bodies were built with Fedex Large boxes and thick copper wiring. The cake had to be ordered from a local supermarket in advance after giving them the picture to apply to it. I had to borrow half of these from a friend (lucky he had a virtual boy!) and then cut the copper wire to get it over the "shoulders" and through the sleeves so the controller arms could be added and then posed.
And if anyone wants to know, the DSs' breasts are made from two empty packing tape rolls wrapped in a t-shirt."
Impeccable to say the least.
Plus, we have to admit, we're suckers for cake.
First Prize Winner
Jonathan Martin
This amazing picture is best explained in Jon's own words:
"Seven references in the picture: computer clock reads 7:07 PM, Svevan -> Seven, Fire Emblem 7, Killer 7, 7 pills, 7 coins totaling $.77 (two quarters, two dimes, a nickel and two pennies), the coins and pills are strewn about vaguely forming 7s, Wavebird set to channel 7 (can't tell in the picture, but it is!), iPod 7 seconds into a song (from Final Fantasy VII), 7 instances of mIRC, IE and AIM are open on the computer, URL manually changed from '106' to '777', the image dimensions are 777 x 777."
Of course, to see the picture in its original dimensions, you'll have to click on it!
Runner-Up Winners
Chad Bonin
This one inspired great admiration, jealousy, and other, more shameful, feelings.
Tuden Jamir
Hilarity combined with creativity equals honors. It's almost like magic.
Aaron White
Very impressive design. Aaron must be an absolute master at Tetris.
Matthieu Patoine
The simplicity of this photograph belies its ethereal beauty.
James Overbeck
This one was simply too funny to pass up. PGC seems to be made up of Domo-Kun fans. Even at the expense of poor Louie.
