Nintendo 3DS Currently Available on Amazon for $216

The console will ship in time to receive Ambassador Program games.

The Nintendo 3DS is now available on Amazon.com for around $216. At the time of writing, the price was fluctuating between page loads, so it could be a good idea to check several times for the final price. Both colors, Aqua Blue and Cosmo Black, are available in limited quantities.

While Nintendo recently announced a price cut for the 3DS worldwide, users who purchase and connect their devices to the internet before August 12 will be eligible for free downloadable software through the Nintendo Ambassador program.

That's a pretty sweet deal.

And then you can force Amazon to "match" the new price for you right after the drop. ;D

Will Amazon do that?

According to their website, they don't appear to do that except for TVs. I have never tried it myself though.

For us Canadians, I noticed that walmart.ca is selling the 3DS at $198, both colours.  Not sure if there will be an intentional delay on them shipping the item, but it's currently listed as "in stock".

It was at $223 when I clicked on the link, but that is awesome deal. I would buy it if I didn't already have it.

That's also an in-store deal, so it'd probably ship unless they went out of stock on it.

Meanwhile, at Costcos in Canada, they've apparently enacted the price drop early.

Couple of caveats I noticed:

Quote:

In stock.
Processing takes an additional 3 to 4 days for orders from this seller.
Ships from and sold by STL PRO, Inc..

Not fulfilled by Amazon, so no free shipping.  Definitely no price matching.  Four extra days for "processing" plus this seller's shipping estimate is 3-5 business days (and $8.51).  If you order it today, it might not even ship until Thursday or Friday, and then it wouldn't arrive until the middle of next week at the earliest.  It's just possible to get it on time to get in on the Ambassador deal, but it'll be close.

Amazon has a separate listing for the 3DS at $169.99, part of which may be so that people can't do that price-match trick. Probably not a good idea to try it without looking into it.

It doesn't seem to be amazon but their "third party" sellers that are offering the low price. It could very well be people shorting their units/stock and shipping it (amazon gives them 30 days regardless of when they say they will) when they can buy them for $170 to pocket the difference...

When I looked earlier the estimated shipping date was August 2-3, which should give it the time it needs, but yeah, you run the risk of it taking too long to get there if you order it this way.

let the 3DS sales frenzy begin. I can only wonder how many will be stabbed for a 3ds on Black Friday.

Just because.

Seriously though I doubt it will be that hot.
