Play Yan allows you to play MP3 audio files and .asf format MPEG4 movies on your Game Boy Advance SP or Nintendo DS. Files can be put on SD memory cards (not included), which then slip into the SD slot on the Play-Yan. The unit features a built-in headphone jack, bass boost control for MP3 playback, and brightness control for video playback.

Included with the Play-Yan is Panasonic's Media Stage software, which allows those with a capable Japanese software-compatible PC to encode compatible MPEG, AVI and WMV files to the ASF MPEG4 format that the Play-Yan reads and plays back.
