Super Mario Bros. 3 an Ambassador Game?

An image on Nintendo's Facebook page may be hinting at a possible Ambassador game.

Nintendo presented its Facebook fans with an image of Super Mario Bros. 3, more specifically a screenshot of the "TIME UP" screen.

The image was used to alert gamers about the deadline to sign for the upcoming Ambassador program where early adopters of the 3DS can obtain free games to play on the system.

Originally it was rumored that the Super Mario Advance version of the classic NES title was going to be part of the deal, but this was later scrapped.

The image used on the Facebook notification may not mean anything, but considering the legacy the game has it is a possibility that the game might eventually be available for download.

I would like the game in any form, but I think the GBA version is better and would prefer that one. It's still possible we could get the GBA one since they didn't flat out say it wasn't coming (though their wording made it less likely).

At this point, I'm still working under the assumption that SMA4 is one of the GBA games. Multiple Nintendo support representatives named it as part of it, so it's pretty unlikely they'd all make up the same two games, which means it was in the system as one of the games. That could be mistaken, but it also had Kirby in that group, which they're saying is very likely.

I don't understand why Nintendo would respond to it the way they did, but that's not an uncommon reaction for me regarding Nintendo PR.

Maybe, but the Nintendo PR pretty much said Kirby will be included but SMA4 was unlikely. The typical response from that would be basically to say No Comment on both.

Except that doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Unless there is an organized campaign on the part of support representatives to fuck with us, Super Mario Advance 4 was in the system as an Ambassador game. Assuming that, which do you think is more likely: that Nintendo accidentally put the game in the system before announcing it, or that somehow a game that will not be part of the program was in the system as part of it? Especially given that Kirby is in the same boat, and they said it will be in.

EDIT: I suppose the only way it makes sense is if the games were put on the list off a database, and someone accidentally selected Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 instead of Super Mario Advance 3. I could see that happening.
