Nintendo wants to see 30 indie games a week release on Switch. Surprisingly, they're not there yet.

Another day, another three hundred hours of gameplay onto my backlog that's growing larger than Dara O'Brian's head. Nintendo has two retail Switch games this week in Octopath Traveler and Captain Toad, who also sneaks over to the 3DS. There's also Shining Resonance Refrain, once referred to as the "bankrupt man's Tales" with a side of fetish artist, and also Alex Culafi's sleeper hit of the year in Pato Box.

Cosmic Star Heroine Now Available For Preorder, Unlocks August 14 Switch

The first part of the Cosmic Star Heroine release puzzle is falling into place.

The long-awaited throwback RPG is now available for preorder on the Switch eShop, and will launch on August 14. Preordering the game will offer a 10% discount.

Limited Run Games reiterated with the announcement that a physical copy would be available "later this year or early 2019".

New Smash Amiibo Releasing December 7; Older Models Being Reissued Switch

Ridley's too big to fit in the standard box.

We have a launch date for the new round of Smash Bros series Amiibo.

Nintendo has tabbed December 7 for the release of Ridley, Inkling, and Wolf to go along with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The new figures have a US$15.99 MSRP.

Additionally, older Smash series Amiibo will be re-released at their old ($12.99) MSRP. Which ones are slated to return has not been announced.

Free-To-Play Shooter Warframe Announced For Switch: Panic Button Porting Switch

Digital Extreme's free to play third person shooter Warframe has been announced for a Switch release. No release date has been given for the game, which has been in active service on PC and console for five years.

Lab Zero's not just bringing Indivisible to us.

One of the decade's premiere fighting games is about to make its debut on Nintendo platforms.

Skullgirls: 2nd Encore has been announced for a Switch release. Developed by Lab Zero, the team behind forthcoming RPG Indivisible, the all-female fighter was originally released in 2012 and has come to multiple other platforms since.

Anime Expo continues to bring announcements for Switch, including the newest game from Zero Escape series creator Kotaro Uchikoshi.

AI: The Somnium Files (pronounced Ai, as in the Japanese word for love) was announced at Spike Chunsoft's Anime Expo panel. Set in a futuristic version of Tokyo, players will dive into dreams in order to solve mysteries.

The teachers knew he'd lost his head when he filled a Student Council seat with Mr. Ed.

NIS America has outlined their lineup for Switch into early 2019 ahead of this weekend's Anime Expo in Los Angeles.

In addition to locking down September 18 for Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk and November 13 for the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection, the company announced three additional RPGs are coming west: one internal project, one outsourced project, and a follow-up to a game they published last year on 3DS.

Hang on, we're not sure if anyone in the US can hear us over the fireworks.

On the revenge of the 5th, the eShop takes the spotlight here. Among the brand new titles for North America are SpiritSphere DX and the long, long awaited Pocket Rumble, while fans of the older titles can tackle the Bowhemoth one more time in Runbow or take on a Squids Odyssey. Gearbox Publishing has also crossed over to the Switch with Burnwell, and thankfully we've been spared a tweet from the company's nominal head about it.

Namco Museum Arcade Pac To Launch In Stores: Combines Two eShop Titles Switch

We know we can probably count on at least one sale in Quebec.

Bandai Namco is rolling their arcade eShop releases into a retail package.

Namco Museum Arcade Pac has been announced for release on the Switch as an exclusive, though no release date was given. The base of the package is a combination of Namco Museum and Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 Plus, both of which have come out on Switch in the past year.

Circle is going to be a bit busy this year.

One of the Switch eShop's strategy titles is getting its own side story.

Mercenaries Wings: The Fallen Phoenix is a side story to the Mercenaries Saga series, which has two releases on 3DS and released in a compilation on the Switch eShop in February. Wings will take flight before the end of the year.
