Atlus' Parent Company Splitting in Two WiiU

One will focus on games, the other on distribution.

Index Corporation, parent company of developer Atlus, will be split into two groups following restructuring after being purchased by Sega Sammy Holdings. The first company will be known as Atlus, which will have 121 employees who will focus entirely on game development. The second company, known as Index Corporation, will work on advertising and distribution, and be comprised of 166 people.

Evofish Coming Soon to European eShop

What came first, the party or the fish?

Evofish, a new party game from developer Moving Player, has been approved for release on the Wii U eShop. It will be available “shortly” in Europe, with no announcement so far for other regions.

Evofish includes a solo mode, as well as three multiplayer party modes supporting up to five players using the Wii U GamePad and four Wii remotes. Multiplayer will include the option to play competitively or cooperatively.

Nintendo 3DS Outpacing Game Boy Advance Sales in Japan GBA3DS

The Nintendo 3DS is currently outpacing Game Boy Advance sales in Japan.

Media Create, a Japanese sales tracker, reports that in its 154th week the Nintendo 3DS has sold around 15 million units. This is up from sales of the Game Boy Advance, which were at 11.64 million units at week 154.

Colorful before, but prettier now.

A new HD remake of Flowerworks: Follie's Adventure is being released this quarter, developer Nocturnal Entertainment has announced.

Originally released for WiiWare in 2010, Flowerworks HD is revamped to make use of the Wii U's HD capabilities. Nocturnal attributes the project to Nintendo's kindness; the company lent Nocturnal Wii U devkits in order to complete the port.

Those Red Falcon guys really had it coming anyway.

The trend continues! This Siberian winter on the eShop will come to an end one day. With naught but a single game or two each week to slake our digital hunger we Nintendo gamers may be unable to go on.

But seriously, where are the games? My theory is that Nintendo has them locked in a vault, guarded by Nunchuck Reggie. This week the VC gets the minimal amount of love, a promising RPG hits the eShop, and a Spin the Bottle game gets an update.

Wii Sports Club Wii U Hardware Bundle Coming to Japan WiiU

This looks a little familiar.

A new Wii U hardware bundle that comes with the three current Wii Sports Club titles, Tennis, Bowling and Golf, is set to arrive in Japan in late March, Iwata revealed at the latest Nintendo Direct. The new set will come with also come with a Wii Remote Plus and Sensor Bar retailing for 30,000 yen. This bundle is currently exclusive to Japan.

Bayonetta 2 Out Later This Year WiiU

A new trailer showed off the game and confirmed a summer release in Japan, as well as 2014 windows in other regions.

Bayonetta 2 will be out this summer in Japan and later in 2014 in North America and Europe.

A new trailer was shown at the end of today's Nintendo Direct highlighted in-game action sequences. Nintendo President Satoru Iwata noted that she will hold guns on both her hands as well as her legs. He also detailed Witch Time mode, as well as the Umbram Climax mode, which unleashes a flurry of energy when initiated.

Capcom is working on a new Ace Attorney title, Iwata revealed at the latest Japanese Nintendo Direct. Currently, there is very little information available, however, we do know that Shu Takumi will again be involved in the project as director. Capcom is set to reveal more about the game at a later date.

Mario Golf: World Tour, the new 3DS golf game from Camelot, will release in North America May 2.

Mr. Iwata's presentation in the Nintendo Direct showed off a variety of online and offline game functionality. The game will include online competition for players all around the world, and include the ability to have tournaments. It will also bring back the Communities feature from Mario Kart 7 that will allow groups to customize how they play.

NES Remix 2 has been announced and will be released on the Wii U eShop on April 25 in North America and in Japan as Famicom Remix 2 on April 24.

NES Remix 2 will contain remixes and stages from multiple NES games including Ice Hockey, Wario's Woods, Zelda II, Super Mario Bros. 2, Dr. Mario, Kirby's Adventure, Super Mario Bros. 3, Kid Icarus, Punch-Out!!, Metroid, NES Open, and Super Mario Bros. 2: The Lost Levels.
