The Wii’s championing of a healthy, active lifestyle with titles like Wii Fit may enhance the treatment for Parkinson’s disease, according to a researcher of the Medical College of Georgia. Parkinson’s disease is a degenerative disease of the brain which affects a person’s motor skills, speech and other basic functions.

Help Feature Confirmed for New Super Mario Bros. Wii Wii

The initiative hopes to make the game even more accessible to new players.

Nintendo has confirmed that their recently unveiled New Super Mario Bros. Wii will feature a help system in which players can let the game take over for them during difficult parts.

Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed this. "In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, if a player is experiencing an area of difficulty, this will allow them to clear troubled areas and take over when they're ready," said the famed developer.

Nintendo Offers Professor Layton Father's Day Bundle in the UK DS

Nintendo of Europe will be offering a Father's Day DS Lite bundle featuring Professor Layton. The bundle will include a black DS Lite and a copy of Professor Layton and the Curious Village.

The bundle will be offered at £120 (USD$195) and it is currently exclusive to Europe.

Ignition Releases First Trailer for Nostalgia DS

The DS RPG that seems to take inspiration from Skies of Arcadia receives its first official trailer.

Today, Ignition released the first official trailer for the air-based DS RPG, Nostalgia.

Coming this fall, the game follows the main character Eddy and a cast of Londoners as they travel the world.

Nintendo Victorious in Patent Suit

A lawsuit against Nintendo brought about by Guardian Media Technologies about the Wii Remote has been dismissed. .

A U.S. District court judge recently dismissed a lawsuit brought by Guardian Media Technologies made against Nintendo involving a patent and the Wii Remote.

Guardian Media Technologies claims that Nintendo violated one of their patents when creating the Wii Remote. The case was dismissed on June 8.

DSi Sales Decline in Japan

This week in Nintendo Downloads proves to be larger than normal for WiiWare with a total of three new titles appearing for the service. Life's no Hakuna Matata in this WiiWare-exclusive title.

Finnish game developer Lapland Studio along with publisher Inaria Interactive has announced Lead the Meerkats, a simulation/strategy hybrid for WiiWare.

Players take on the role of a lone meerkat who is separated from her pack. She has to create her own pack by making alliances with other meerkats by helping them search for food, defending them from predators, or helping to attack them.

Atlus Has Announced 101-in-1 Party Megamix for Wii Wii

The DS title has seen a rebirth on the Wii.

Atlus has announced that they will be publishing Nordcurrent's Wii title 101-in-1 Party Megamix for Wii in North America.

Like its DS predecessor, 101-in-1 will feature over 100 mini-games (101 to be exact) based on various themes. Atlus hopes that the variety and accessibility of gameplay found in the title will attract all sorts of players, including old school arcade gamers, new players, and even fans of puzzles.
