Sega Announces The House of the Dead: Overkill for Wii Wii

The classic light gun shooter is being reinvented for Wii by Headstrong Games, who are giving the game a gritty classic horror film look.

Sega has announced today that in a joint effort with developer Headstrong Games (formerly known as Kuju London), The House of the Dead: Overkill is being brought to Wii. The game will take players back to the very beginning of the series when Special Agent G graduates from the academy. Along with the hard-boiled Detective Washington, they investigate the unusual circumstances of a small Louisiana town.

Dragon Quest slows down enough on the DS for an Xbox 360 RPG to beat it. No, seriously

This week was a battle of the RPGs with Phantasy Star on the PSP going against Nintendo's own Fire Emblem on the DS. It seems that Nintendo lost out this time, maybe the PSP has found a new outlet for its crowd of Monster Hunter Portable owners?

Even the Xbox 360 had an entry with the first Tales game for the console making an entry at No.4, an event that affected hardware sales too.

Twenty-Nine Cleveland State University students have concluded what we already know: Wii Boxing provides a helluva workout.

In fact, spending 30 minutes pummeling a virtual punching bag provides virtually the same burn as a real bag. A group of 29 students spent 30 minutes punching a real punching bag as well as 30 minutes virtually boxing via the Wii. Information from a heart monitor, pedometer, and oxygen analyzer was streamed into a computer and analyzed.

First Person Shooter C.O.R.E. Announced for DS DS

Rocket launchers? Secret rooms? Missing scientists? Deathmatch mode? A mysterious meteor from space? The DS is getting an FPS inspired by the classics.

New developer NoWay Studio has announced their first major project: DS first person shooter C.O.R.E.. The game will feature a single player mission mode based around a Roswell style storyline taking place across fifteen levels, and a multiplayer mode with Capture the Flag, Team Arena, and Free for All battle types with ten specially designed areas to battle in.

EA Announces Partnership to Publish Mikami-Suda51 Horror Project

Overlord Dark Legend and Overlord Minions Coming Exclusively to Wii and DS Wii

Capcom's Bionic Commando Not Approved for Virtual Console

"Told no" when they tried to get the NES classic on the Wii's downloadable retro library.

In a recent interview with 1UP, Capcom's Ben Judd said that they "couldn't get (Bionic Commando) approved for the Virtual Console." With the pending release of a remake of the game and an upcoming release of a new Bionic Commando game for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Judd was disappointed that they couldn't work it out.

Chrono Trigger Coming to Europe in 2009 DS
