Red Octane, the company responsible for bringing the Guitar Hero franchise to the light of day (bless them) has officially announced that Guitar Hero 3 will indeed be coming to the Wii, by the end of the year. The PS2, PS3 and Xbox 360 will also be getting the multiplatform game.

Datel, the company best known for the Action Replay game cheat line of products, has come up with another product that enters the gray zone of intellectual property manipulation.

My Mii Manager is a program for your home computer that allows you to edit your Miis, using an included USB Bluetooth dongle to apparently transfer them via the remote's internal Mii memory.

Talking on the Game Theory Podcast, Nintendo of America's VP of marketing and corporate affairs let it be known that because of how wildly successful the Wii console has been lately, those that are still looking to find one may need to keep looking a while longer. Referring to the Wii, Kaplan said, "the product is so very popular that we may see a supply-demand situation last for some time."

The publisher of the GTA series says, among other things, that “working with Nintendo is a priority."

Game publisher Take-Two has been going through troubled times lately. In the past week, the company has appointed a new chairman, Strauss Zelnick; a new interim CEO, Ben Feder; is looking for a new CFO, after Karl Winters left T2 on Monday; and has been relisted on the NASDAQ earlier today as the publisher continues to stabilize its legal situation.

RedOctane's official website confirms the game's existence, target platforms, and a release window.

RedOctane, the original publisher of Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero 2 (and now a subsidiary of Activision), has confirmed on its official website that the next game in the series is planned for a wide multiplatform release, including a Wii version. The game is scheduled to ship later this year. Here's the exact quote:

A retail listing confirms budget pricing, release date, true wide screen support, and more.

A full listing for Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition at the EB Games online store provides quite a bit of information on this newly announced game. Most importantly, the North American release date is June 25, 2007 with a retail price of only $29.95. This pricing marks a significant break from Capcom's previous policy on Resident Evil ports.

Stop me if you've heard this one before.

Thanks (again) to DS hardware and software, Nintendo is expecting to beat its already lofty yearly sales target of 900 billion Yen ($7.58 billion), raising its consolidated net sales estimate for its 2007 fiscal year to 966 billion Yen ($8.14 billion). That's a 7.3% difference. The Wii wasn't mentioned in the note announcing this forecast adjustment, so it seems the DS is kicking ass and taking names all by itself.

Nintendo is outselling the PlayStation 3 at a ratio of 2-to-1 over there.

The latest sales figures from Japan are showing that Nintendo has sold 1.95 million Wii consoles from its December 2 launch to a period ending on March 25. Assuming Nintendo has been getting decent shipments out to its home country in the week since then, it's not too far-fetched to believe that the Wii has already broken the two million systems sold mark, just four months after it launched in the region.

Famitsu confirms Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition and gives new details about Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles.

The community over at the NeoGAF forums put together an interesting thread about the new gaming news revealed in the latest issue of Famitsu. There was a pretty big spread about the Biohazard (Resident Evil) series that included the first information about a Resident Evil 4 remake for Wii.

The next game from the developers of Guitar Hero may not be snubbing the Wii after all.

When Electronic Arts recently announced the next game released from Harmonix, Rock Band, the Wii was oddly absent from the list of platforms. Luckily, IGN acquired a statement from Harmonix, saying that EA will be publishing the game on "all important platforms" and that, "the Wiimote is something that holds enormous promise."
