Man, the Japanese always seem to get the awesome deals.

Konami and Nintendo are preparing a special collection for those looking to pick up Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes when it hits Japan on March 11.

For 21,000 Yen ($200-ish), you'll get a special MGS:TT GameCube, the game, a special 44-page booklet on the game series, and a special disc which includes, among other things, the original NES version of Metal Gear.

Acclaim to Publish Worms 3D GC

North American gamers will finally get a chance to play Team 17's international hit next month.

Update: Although the press release does not mention specific platforms, we contacted Acclaim to ask about a GameCube version. The publisher has recently withheld GameCube versions of some of its games, citing poor sales of third-party software on the system, but Acclaim will indeed publish Worms 3D on GameCube in North America.

Everyone knows how Konami puts these movies together, especially the ones for their Metal Gear Solid series. They've just released another one to promote the new Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes for GameCube, and somehow, defying all logic, this trailer clocks in at an astounding twenty-seven minutes long.

Nintendo Announces Famicom GBASP and Games GBA

The classics are back. Update: There's a matching system too.

Nintendo has recently announced a series of Game Boy Advance games. These games are all re-releases of classic Famicom games from way back when. The titles will include both first and third party games. They are priced at 2000 Yen ($19) a piece and will be released on February 14th. Here is a list of the first batch.

The equation is x=4. There will be a test later in the week.

When Capcom first showed off Resident Evil 4 a while back, the end of the movie trailer showed off a release in the year "200X." It obviously didn't mean 2003, and many people suspected that the game wouldn't come out until 2005. However, thanks to a rather unusual way of telling everyone, Capcom has revealed that the latest in their flagship survival horror will indeed come out this year.

Nintendo Announces World Hobby Fair Presence

Nintendo's Japanese website reveals which games it will display on the 19th.

Nintendo will be showing off its multiplayer muscles at this year's World Hobby Fair, starting January 19th in Osaka. Iwata said Nintendo would sell a certain amount, and he's sticking to his story.

In a small newsbyte on Yahoo! Japan, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata was quoted as saying that Nintendo will meet its worldwide GameCube sales goal of 6 million units for the fiscal year, which finishes up in March. "The target is in sight, [but] it won't be an easy victory," he said.

The games industry in the UK is continuing to grow, with the highest sales ever recorded last year of 1.26 billion pounds spent on software.

ELSPA, the Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association, today announced the continued buoyant growth in the UK computer and video games market. A Chinese supermarket hosted a two-day event to help promote Nintendo's oddball game device.

On November 22nd and 23rd, Nintendo held a launch event for its China-only gaming system, the iQue. It was a competition featuring Mario Kart 64 and Wave Race 64, with the winners of each receiving some iQue gear, with the grand prize winner getting something special, a framed Shigeru Miyamoto autographed picture of Mario.

A state assemblyman is hoping that two new bills will keep violent games out of the hands of the kiddies.

The fight to blame videogames as the sole reason for violence among young children has no end in sight.
