Nintendo, the world's leading games company, proudly announces 3rd May 2002 as the European launch date for the only dedicated games console of the new era, the Nintendo GameCube. Nintendo will ship 500,000 units in to Europe for day one and a total of 1 million units for the launch period.

IGN Cube has contacted Rockstar to inquire about the rumors that a port of GTA3 is in the works for GameCube.

Rockstar's response was that other than the X-Box and PC versions (in addition to the already released PS2 version), there is not a GameCube version planned at this time.
