by Max Lake - 10:42 am EDT

A couple different things have been going around, so here’s some solid info on the next blood-spilling, spine ripping installment of Mortal Kombat.

Last week, the Younger Plumber posted this story regarding the fifth installment of Mortal Kombat. I knocked the story off the front page (“C’mon TYP, we confirmed this ages ago”) yet the press release was recent and the report was being posted elsewhere. This caused a couple people actually write in asking about what was up with Mortal Kombat 5 on GameCube.

Nintendo's latest issue of Nintendo Power doesn't just talk about the upcoming Nintendo titles. Nintendo talks frank about the emulation scene as well ...

In Volume 145 of Nintendo Power magazine, there is a letter to NP talking about emulation (a follow-up to a question from Volume 143). The author basically says that copying a ROM that you own is legal, and brings up the "24 hours rule. Lastly, they also suggest that it's OK to copy games if they are not available in stores any longer (and are, therefore, public domain). Here's Nintendo's response, in it's entirety:

Our CloudChaser brothers at RareNet have had a tough year so far, but things are looking good for a comeback.

A few days ago the guys at RareNet posted a notice about the status of their site, saying that myriad server problems have plagued them for the past few weeks, but they're looking for a new server and will soon "relaunch" with a couple new features and somewhat regular updating. This is despite some talk that the site was shutting down for good. We're glad to know that RareNet is still alive and will soon be back in business!

According to The Magic Box, Nintendo has decided to unify GBA color selections by taking the opaque Japanese models off the market. Game Boy.com adds new "America, Advanced." portion to Gameboy.com. But where the hell are they going?

Nothing that new here, but they've added a new animation. Hopefully they'll be updating while they are in DC so we can track them down.

Could the truck house a GameCube for demo purposes. Planet GameCube will be decending upon Washington D.C. this weekend to try to locate Team Advance. Where exactly they will be is still unknown...

Sweet Euro GBA ads! GBA

by Billy Berghammer - 8:31 am EDT
Source: computerandvideogames

If you thought the new GBA ads in the US were cool, check out what the people see on the other side of the pond.

Euro-Nintendophiles are seeing some excellent new GBA ads pop up on TV and in magazines.

A cool new slogan is featured inside, "Gaming 24:7". Hell yeah brother! Will the US get this new phrase? This looks to be used instead of the "Life Advanced" campaign.

Interesting how these ads seem to target a much older demo. Advanced Peeing? Not really for kids. NOE seems to be a little more gutsy with their advertising.
