Which games will drop the 'tridge and go fully digital?

"Many of our previously released 3DS titles will be coming to the eShop in the coming months," Capcom's Christian Svensson announced on the company's Ask Capcom forum.

Svensson, Capcom's Senior Vice-President, made this reply to a thread that began asking of Capcom's support for the Wii U eShop. A member of the forum made a post predicting Capcom's unwillingness to support the Wii U's digital store, to which Svensson remarked on the companies forthcoming support for the North American 3DS eShop.

From launch, Capcom has released Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, and Resident Evil: Revelations. It's unclear which of these is destined for the eShop.

Svensson further commented that Capcom's focus is on the future, not the past. This seems to hint at upcoming titles like Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate making its way to the eShop as well as retail.

Japan might also get Capcom's Nazo Waku Yakata: Oto no Ma ni Ma ni (which was released in August 2011).

The last part is the key for me, as if I were going to buy Monster Hunter I'd want to have it digitally.

Didn't Mercenaries get some added functionality (like extra save slots) with its eShop release in Japan?

More than one save slot is not extra, it's the most basic stuff that should have been there from the go.

Nailed it.

There's the thought going around that Revelations may not be one of these digital titles, but Svensson was responding to someone talking about a port of the XBLA version not coming to Wii U. I wouldn't count on RE:R on the eShop JUST yet.

In two years they have managed to crap out just 3 games for 3DS? Two of them basically ports?

Step it up, Capcom.

5 games if you count Japan (one that has little chance of coming out in North America, the other is Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and comes out this spring).

I don't count Japan (much as I would like many Japanese games to be localized for NA).

And MH is yet another port.

Monster Hunter is at least an enhanced port. From what I understand it's the best version of that game by a considerable margin, save for the Wii U version of the same thing.

CericJanuary 18, 2013

Monster Hunter is a port just as much as any expansion pack is a port.

not sayiing mh is bad
just making a point about capcom making next to no games for 3ds

sf4 was an enhanced and excellent vsersion too
