The 'HD' remake of the arcade classic was revealed in an ESRB listing.

A listing on the ESRB website has revealed MonkeyPaw Games' first multiplatform title to be BurgerTime HD.

A remake of the Data East arcade classic, BurgerTime has the player build burgers by walking over ingredients, causing them to fall from platforms towards the bottom of the screen. In the 1982 version of the game, the player must avoid animated food, as coming into contact with them makes them dizzy, and the ESRB description indicates that the remake will be feature similar gameplay.

MonkeyPaw Games specializes in producing retro games "that make you feel like you did growing up…but with today’s graphics and intensity." They deliver games exclusively via downloadable platforms, so BurgerTime HD will most likely be available via WiiWare (as well as via Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network).

MonkeyPaw Games has not officially announced BurgerTime HD, so no release details are currently available.

I played this a lot on Atari. I tried to play the Flash version recently, but the difficulty was set too low, and the boards just kept repeating, so I eventually turned it off due to boredom.

The NES version was ridiculously hard. It'd be nice to play a version that's a little more manageable.

Yeah I remember playing Burgertime on the NES and it didn't seem that hard to me at the time.

I was actually thinking about buying a copy of the NES version recently, but each copy I've found has been in the $20 range. If this were true enough to the original, I would download it in an instant.

It's starts out okay. But it's gets crazier and crazier. There's six stages, but then they repeat (getting all the harder). My assumption is that there are 3 rounds, or 18 levels total. But, though I've spent many MANY hours playing it, I've never beaten the 18th level. (I think I may have reach level 18 once...)

I think I read that the NES version was the most difficult of all versions. The enemies moved faster or something.

I grew up playing this on my parents' Intellivision. Suck it Atari, my baseball looks like baseball!

This game seems like a rip off of Diner Dash.

If you're looking for alternatives, BurgerTime is in the Data East Arcade Classics compilation for Wii. It's priced at $20, and you may be able to find something cheaper if you look around.
