A Headstrong Games employee revealed that the company is pitching Overkill 2 and working on a 3DS title.

Steve Pritchard from Headstrong Games, developers of Battalion Wars and this fall’s Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest, revealed that the developer is in talks with Sega about making House of the Dead: Overkill 2, which they promise would be even more over-the-top than the original.

The story for the game was formulated following the development of the original, but a sequel was never confirmed. Additionally, there is a chance that the original game will be ported to Sony’s Move, and the new iteration would be released for both Wii and PlayStation 3.

Pritchard also confirmed that the company is working on a 3DS title, though he didn’t go into any details. Headstrong Games previously worked on Geometry Wars: Galaxies for DS, and Pritchard teased the possibility of a Geometry Wars game on Nintendo's upcoming 3DS.

Headstrong's latest game, Lord of the Rings: Aragorn’s Quest, is coming to Wii this fall.

I don't know if you could go more over the top than the first Overkill.

You could, but it would be extremely sick and perverted, get the Adults Only rating, and never see release.

Overkill 2 would be awesome.
Geometry Wars on 3DS? Yes, please!

I thought SEGA was dumping mature wii game.

I thought SEGA was dumping mature wii game.

Someone in the company said that then someone higher up pretty much said that wasn't true.

The exact quote was that "mature" games are a mismatch for the Wii audience, there was no such talk that Sega would or should not create M-rated games for Wii.

Yes, but I would think that if they really did believe they were a mismatch they'd probably stop making them but, then again, this is Sega we're talking about, and they haven't always made the best business decisions.

To be fair, the quote was specifically about MadWorld. If I remember rightly, the creator of MadWorld expressed interest in making a sequel, but obviously there has been no such announcement. So perhaps Sega has become more selective in which M-rated games to put on Wii, and light gun games are comparatively cheap to make.

I am actually looking forward to a Madworld 2.

You seem to look foreward to a lot of games that stand little to no chance of releasing. Sonic Chronicles, Madworld...though all the Kid Icarus wishers got their dreams granted this week so who knows? Anything is possible now it seems.

Sega has free sonic the hedgehog on their website, and at the same time sells it on wii shop channel

they dont know what the fuck they are doing

PeachylalaJune 18, 2010

"Sega" and "they dont know what the fuck they are doing" has gone together like bread and butter for the last four console generations.

It makes for great hilarity.

ThePermJune 19, 2010

man, if i ran Sega it would be such an awesome company...there would be totally upturned tables.

StratosJune 19, 2010

You'd fire Sonic Team, right? Or at least forbid them from making another 'hook' in a Sonic game?
