New details on latest installment of the Japan-only game series.

New details of the fifth installment of the Japan-only “Stafy” series were revealed through a new website and a recent article from Famitsu magazine this week.

The new title is called Densetsu no Stafy: Taiketsu Daiiru Kaizokudan, roughly translated as The Legend of Stafy: Pirate Gang Confrontation!

Stafy has a new Rabbit-shaped ally called “Rampa” who has the ability to transform our star-shaped hero.

The new sequel allows many new transformations for Stafy including dragon and seal forms. The new website hints at there being up to four transformations in total. Stafy’s sister, Stapy, is also returning. Stapy can join as a second player in the new co-op mode.

Requiring just one player to have a copy of the DS game, a second player can join in certain areas and boss battles and is said to be a useful ally. Through Stapy, the second player will have certain unique abilities like a spin attack and a block breaking ability.

Densetsu no Stafy: Taiketsu Daiiru Kaizokudan is scheduled to release in Japan on the 10th of July.

As with the previous four games in the series, there are no plans from Nintendo to release the game in North America.

AWESOME. I love the Stafi series, really wish it would come to America.

I would love it to come to America too, but Nintendo of America not wanting to bring games over here that the fans want is nothing new(hint:Mother 3). Still, I'll play Starfi reguardless.

Edit: You guys modified the article after I posted, so no need for this anymore.

James did the translation himself.  Unfortunately, Famitsu was wrong, and I wish I had a chance to edit the article before it got posted.  The mistake is fixed now.
