Talkback

Of those, Golden Axe is the only one I will probably get at some point. Still, nice to see this type of stuff finally disclosed.

Ah... my brother and I both remember Ristar, one of the few games we actually enjoyed on our unwanted Game Gear (we ASKED for a Game Boy...AAARRRGGGHHHH). We might want to buy that one for old time's sake...

Oh, and I don't know what Gunstar Heroes is, but it's got two player co-op, so that immediately bumps it to the top of my list!

THIS IS UNIMAGINABLE FAIL.

DasmosOctober 31, 2006

I was hoping they'd throw a Streets of Rage somewhere in there.

GoldenPhoenixOctober 31, 2006

Starting at 8$?!?! That is a huge ripoff.

Bill AurionOctober 31, 2006

Must...resist...killing...Kairon...Grrrrrr...

*deep breath*

...

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

(How is 8 dollars a ripoff? It's 8 dollars for SNES games, so it makes sense for Genesis games to be priced the same way...)

GUNSTAR HEIFFING HEROES FTW

Sega gets my 8 bucks the DAY it is available.

/cry

I SAID it was top of my list! C'mon!

Golden Axe, Ecco and Gunstar Heros are all a must. Toe Jam and Earl is pretty high on the list, too.

KnowsNothingOctober 31, 2006

MUST GET toejam and earl, gunstar, and maybe Ecco.

<3

Spak-SpangOctober 31, 2006

The only two games I would get are Toe Jam and Earl and Gunstar Heroes.

Then the Hudson game list I want Bomberman 93.

Nintendo list I am not sure yet...but definately Super Mario 64.

Thank you Bill. I'm happy someone else is sane. You'll probably have access to these for well beyond the life of any used carts you find now too.

Ian SaneOctober 31, 2006

I'm really surprised to see Gunstar Heroes as one of the first titles. Sure we all know it's the best game on the Genesis but it wasn't like a big mainstream hit or anything. It's kind of a cult hit. Whatever. That's well worth $8. For those who don't know what it is it's like Contra with extra awesome sauce. If Contra 3 is a 10 (and it is) Gunstar is a 12.

What is with Sega and Columns? It always gets treated like some big Genesis hit but I've never met ANYONE who likes it.

SvevanEvan Burchfield, Staff AlumnusOctober 31, 2006

Gunstar Heroes is as much fun as you can have in a videogame.

I take it back that isn't a ripoff for games like Dr. Robotniks mean bean machine that is a throw away game in the Sonic Collection.

Also: It worries me a bit that they say "Starting at 8$" meaning they could be even more expensive!

TrueNerdOctober 31, 2006

I am excited that I finally will get the chance to play Gunstar Heroes. Anything else good? I have no interest in Sonic, Altered Beast or Golden Axe, I've played all of those. Is Ecco any good? Toe Jam and Earl? Ristar? Hopefully these games are re-reviewed for their re-release.

$8 is nothing. It's eight dollars. I agree about Mean Bean Machine though, but only because I own Sonic Mega Collection. face-icon-small-cool.gif

That's a pretty solid lineup for day 1, and I do remember enjoying Columns back in the day.

GoldenPhoenixOctober 31, 2006

Like I said in the other thread I don't understand why Genesis games are 800 pts for us and 600pts for Japan. My guess is that Sega is the one gouging us there.

KDR_11kNovember 01, 2006

Coop and the boss fight with Smash (and face it, Smash is awesome!) are the only things GH has over Gunstar Super Heroes, the latter wins at everything else.

Sega released GH for the PS2 (Japan only I think, SCEA would never allow that in America) and GSH is still pretty recent so I'm not really surprised about that, they know GH is good.

KnowsNothingNovember 01, 2006

I <3 columns by the way, I don't care if I'm the only one.
