Galarian Ponyta Takes the Reins in Pokemon Shield

After a 24 hour livestream last week, Galarian Ponyta has finally been revealed

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/51919/galarian-ponyta-takes-the-reins-in-pokemon-shield

Making it's home in the forests of the Galar region, Galarian Ponyta makes its grand debut in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

It was first teased last Friday in a 24 hour livestream, which gave viewers a sneak peak at its design. In a new trailer released today, we learned that Galarian Ponyta will be a Psychic type and will be dubbed the Unique Horn Pokemon, as opposed to Kantonian Ponyta being a Fire type, being called the Fire Horse Pokemon. Unique to it is its brand new ability, Pastel Veil, which prevents the user and their allies from being poisoned. It can even be used to cure other Pokemon's poison by switching into them.

Galarian Ponyta will be exclusive to Pokemon Shield, which will be releasing on November 15, 2019.

I came into this topic thinking someone would comment about my preference of games. Glad I know you so well Stratos.

On another note I usually wait to decide on versions close to release so a lot of the exclusive pokemon are know on Serebii around that time.   At this point Shield version has more pokemon that I want to try out like the Goodra line and of course Galarian Ponyta. With Sword it would be Sirfetch'd which is the evolution that Farfetch'd needed.   I still need to get a Switch but I have been eyeing the Switch Lite lately.

The inevitable Galarian Rapidash needs to have a base speed of 126 or I'm gonna demand a $0 refund.

I’m still not getting the game, even with Sir Fetch’s smug face.

Yeah, I'm torn myself. Was talking with a buddy lately and he agreed with the sentiment, especially about the National Dex problems, but he's still gonna get the game. I feel like I might cave as well just because I want a full(er) Pokemon game on Switch. Let's Go just doesn't have enough post-game content to keep me going.

I passed on both Sun/Moon games because I've moved on from the 3DS, but I am tempted to pick one of them up since they may be the last games where you can "catch them all".

Definitely do the Ultra ones. They're really good.

I didn't finish Ultra Sun because it was too soon after and too identical to Sun/Moon.  I stopped playing Let's Go because I just wasn't as into it as other Pokemon games.  The Kanto experience is just lacking.

That said, I'm pretty excited about SwSh.  I know the National 'Dex thing has people in a tissy, but it really wasn't there in SuMo; you could transfer the Pokemon over, but it didn't really count towards the 'Dex, IIRC.  So, I don't care about that.  I'm not in love with the Dynamax/Gigamax thing, but I do like the Pokemon revealed thus far.  So, it'll likely be a yes from me.
